Yes the Spindle/Feathering shaft is different than the Align one's. You can only use the Spindle Shafts for the HDX 450 Head with the HDX head, not the align heads. Also just a quick note. The HDX 450 Spindle Shafts will work with the CNC rotor head for the King 2/Belt CP. Just found that out a couple days ago.

I Know I am not Bob but I can help you out here. When you are at 50% throttle and Blade Pitch is at 0 your washout arms should be parallel and level with one another. Adjust the linkages to get them set correctly. If they weren't level then obviously the flybar carrier would not be level either. Hope that helps.

Sounds like you definitely have an issue there. Yeah these things happen, not much you can do about it. I can see that if it didn't all line up correctly that your mesh would be all off. Mine was just a little tight but went together flawlessly. I would contact whoever you got it from and get a new frame. I know that is what I would do and I would hook my customers up without a question in that case also. So if you got it from Heli Direct they will work with you no doubt. They are great. They are always quick to help me and my customers when there is an issue. Hope that helps.

We will see how inethobby handles things. No reply yet. They do business on Ebay, so I didn't get it through Heli Direct. The chance you take sometimes on Ebay deals - a steal(?) for the latest kit with motor for $145. I will make it work, one way or the other!

Ok, I've run into one more obstacle in this great hobby. after some minor mechanical adjustments, I went out for a few hover runs. My first battery lasted about three minutes and it started pufffing a bit so I changed batteries. The next one lasted about 15 seconds before the ESC cut out and started to reinitialize itself and the battery monitor sounded the warning horn. Now all my batteries wont get the ESC to initialize!!!! DO esc's just die?? It was a cheap ESC from HD, a dynam 30A ESC i think. WHats the deal??

My adjustments I mentioned was pulling the motor pinion away from the maingear a bit for less drag on the motor.

Has anyone run into this - Just got my HDX450se kit with tabs on the tail gear block assembly. After mounting to one side of the frame, I found that the notches in the other side of the frame were too small for the tabs. I filed them out so they would fit, but when I screw in the assembly, the tail gear drive binds pretty bad, Not smooth at all. It seems that the holes in the frame don;t quite match up, and as soon as you tighten the screws, they torque the tail block assembly just enough to make it bind. I've tried drilling out the frame holes slightly, but still no luck? Also, the tail gear engages the main gear about 50-75%, that is, it doesn't really line up when it meshes.
Comments anyone?

Well, I ended up picking up an Align tail drive gear assembly at the local hobby shop for $11- swapped out the Sonix version with it, put the frame back together, and it spun nice and smooth with no tweaking needed.

Just got my kit and all though the head is complete, the linkage's are not attached. Does anyone have documented lengths for the linkage?

Thanks in advance,

KPC

I'm a newbie.:bawl The only heli I've flown is a Blade CP.

Ok, everything has been built and installed. I wanted to use my JR790SPCM scanselect receiver with this bird but the rudder connector to the receiver is somewhat different size than others so I can't connect it to the receiver. What should I do?

My setup is
Align 430X motor
Align ESC
3 Hitec 56 servos
240 gyro
Hitec 81 tail servo
TP 3S 2100mah lipo
JR 790 SPCM scanselect rx

Please let me know. I want to fly this bird this weekend:lol:

Quick question for you Bob, in your HDX head set up video, you address trying to line up the different sections of the head. As for the washout arms, i cant figure out what I'm trying to line up. I think I'm supposed to line up the ball links on each arm, making them even with each other at 50% stick. Is that right? I'm almost ready to fly after a rebuild

Thank you very much

Austin

Well, the washout arms on the V3 are NOT straight - there is a 20 degree or so cant at the ball joint end - so, which part of the washout arm should be parallel - the straight part??

If your servo plugs fit the rx,the gyro plug will also fit.
Remember, rudder servo to gyro then gyro to rx.

If the gyro to rx plug has a tab you need to cut this off.
