The recommended? #8 glow plug :smokin:

Either that or the Enya #3. (I think it's a little hotter)

Speaking of glow plugs, do you guys run hotter plugs in the winter months? I'm curious how some of you fly in the freezing temps and are able to keep the engine running reliably.

Runs better once it starts but we are not "Wisconsin cold" either.

Figures! My dad and I were messing around with his plane early spring and we had a hard time keeping it running at anything less them half throttle. You could touch the head and it was pretty much cool to the touch. Between the prop wash and the exhaust blowing on my leg, I was getting cold!

So, maybe I need to pick up an electric heli for winter and fly it indoors?

I fly around the freezing mark all the time (winter, spring, and fall, in Roch, NY) and the engines may idle rougher, but run better overall. Have a harder time with the Trex Lipos in the cold, even keeping them warm in your shorts!

FWIW, the cheap Tower Hobbies plugs seem to perform and last as long as the OS8's.

OS 8, Enya 3, and OS A3's will work pretty good, not sure if anyone is better than the other, or what the Hyper guys are using..
