I already have the long tail boom and am thinking of using 550mm blades, so what blades are everyone using and where is the best place to get them?

So far, I havent used the same set twice. Whatever seems reasonable and fairly cheap as I am still a beginner.

I'm using Heli-max 530's....they seem to fly pretty good but I haven't anything to judge them against.....exepct Gaui 500's on my plastic frame...
you can get them at tower hobbies but I think they are cheaper at NSP

wow mike those are some affordable blades! i may have to buy the 550's...
anywho, i think you're gonna like the 550s- even finless said they make the hurri fly better... however that's all personal preference, some people like 500's too. i use the mavrikk g5 pro wide chords. they're pretty wide and add a ton of pop! i actually had to tone down my swash percentages after i installed them. good luck in your search :)

they're about 65 bucks, well made and stiff

I haven't even put my new Hurri together yet, but being somewhat of a beginner ( I have 3 other smaller helis) I just got some cheap 550mm woodies to put on my Hurri at Redi Heli to practice on when I get it done. They are like $15.99 a pair.

I get to fly my blades at least "TWO" times before I crash them....:smokin:

I've looked for some CF blades since I improved my sport flying skills. As I still crash my heli from time to time, I want to buy some cheap ones...
I found these : http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6593&Product_Name=TIG_500mm_Carbon_Fiber_Z-Weave

I can't tell you if it rocks because I haven't received them yet, but at least it won't hit my wallet ! :)
You can have them in 500mm ($37) or 550mm ($47).

I tried the "TIG 550mm Carbon Fiber Z-Weave (type 2)" from HobbyCity
These are great blades for the money, very stiff and tracks perfect. BUT, I mounted them on the e-smart 600 heli of my friend instead his woodies 550mm blade and they draw MUCH MORE current of his batery than woodies blade. We must increase the pitch a lot to be able that the heli lift from ground. The airfoil for these blade seem very inecfective. Maybe, I have had a defective blade!!!!!!

actually, i've heard that same thing said about those blades on more than one occassion... just look at the comments on the site that sells those and i think you'll find other people with the same complaint... ah- here's one from the 550 size same blade:
"I am very disappointed, These are great blades for the money, very stiff and tracks perfect. BUT, I mounted them on my e-smart 600 size heli instead my woodies 550mm blade and they draw MUCH MORE current of my batery than woodies blade. I must increase my pitch a lot to be able that my heli lift from ground. The airfoil for these blade are very poor."
however, there are good things that were said about them as well, so maybe these were just a couple of defects, who knows?

Just get some 503mm BBT Maniac... they have more punch than most bigger blades. Of course you could use 553mm Maniac but I think they are too much for a Hurricane. I think readyheli sells them in the US.
