YS 91 ST Re-Assembly

Guys

Purchased a YS 91 in bits and not too sure where the ring pin should be in relation to the exhaust port. Should it be on the opposite side of the exhaust port or on the same side?

If memory serves, it should be towards the exhaust side, front. Make certain that wherever it goes, the ring cannot seperate and get caught in a port.

Thanks for the advice, but when I assembled the piston ring and liner I thought that the ring separation point would be too close to the exhaust port. So I turned it through 180degrees which cleared the port by a larger margin.

Peter,
I think your correct in where the pin goes.
If I remember correctly, with the exhaust port facing your face. And looking at the piston from the top. The pin in the piston would be at about the 10 oclock position.
