I currently have 16 flights on my Fury Tempest now and just notice that the bottom corner of the main gear is wearing out. Theres white powder stuff all over the fan shroud. It wasnt like this before today's flight. I had 2 flights today, and the previous 14 flights, I did not see any sign of wear on the main gear. Can anyone tell me whats causing this? The mesh is good and there are no up and down or side to side play on the pinion and main gear. Perhaps the main gear is breaking in? But why suddenly after 16 flights? Or other reasons that might cause this? Inputs are greatly appreciated...thanks guys.

Sounds a little unusual. Can you get us a pick?

No the main gear is not in contact with the clutch bell. I will try to provide a picture soon. The wear is actually not that bad, but I just want to know what can cause this so I can prevent this from getting worse. Thaks guys.

Ck your mainshaft collars to be sure both the upper and lower ones are tight.

Also make sure that the lower main shaft bearing is fully seated in it's block so that the collar holds things in the right place.
