View Full Version : Missing thrust washers

Just started assembling my 550 and it is coming together beautifully, but I'm in a bit of a snag. I'm missing the main blade grip thrust washers(code no. R550608). It looks as though two extra dampener spacers(code no. R550154) were packaged in lieu of the thrust washers. I've looked through the rest of the kit and they are nowhere to be found. It is a silver kit purchased from RReModels. Who should I contact about getting a hold of these washers?
Two too many dampener spacers:

And for your viewing enjoyment, here are some pictures of the build so far:

Same thing happened to me. I e-mailed Bobby at RREmodels and he promptly sent the correct thrust washers to me.

AL,
You can go to Bobby or just email Greg and they will get them right out, I had the same problem with our production kit and let Greg and Charley know so they are aware that some of the kits had damper spacers rather than thrust washers, it apprears to only be a few kits so far and spares are also included with the grips sold separately.

Hey Allan, Nice kit you have there, The silver kit looks awesome( I wish Bobby had some in stock when I got mine.) You will like that one. I ended up using approx. 27mm servo arms to get more resolution and tone it down a bit. I am not used to the speed of these ino-lab servos yet. I'm still fine tuning mine still.

Thanks guys. Called HD and spoke with Larry(very nice guy) and he took care of me promptly.
Now does anyone know what size grommets the canopy uses? I think I lost mine.
In the mean time, here are some more picutres:

I was just trying to convey the fact that they should have been on the canopy. That way you would not spend a lot of time looking for a bag w/ grommets that are not going to be there. As for the size, I am sure just about any grommets for a 50 sized heli would work.

I had posted a bunch of pictures of my build, of which I had a couple with my canopy "mounted", sans grommets. I was assuming you had already looked at them, my mistake.
I've already tried the grommets I had on hand(50 size), and they are too large. Does anyone know what size grommet I need, ckoelliker doesn't seem to want to tell me?;) Just looking for an ID and OD dimension.
I really don't want to walk into Ace Hardware with my heli in hand.

You got that right. My helicopter is out in my truck and it is too damn cold to go out there. Why don't you just remove the canopy post and take in with you to the hardware store. That way you can test fit it. I have tried that route before and I never could find one that had a small enough inside diameter to safely mount on the post. Anyways, I have seen you fly and you don't even need the canopy.

Al,
I believe the ones that I used on our were from HD, they were for the T-rex 600N

Thanks Clyde, will see if I can find something that'll work.
I also want to say Charley PM'ed directly and he said he will send me a set! I value peoples' time, and customer consideration like that is absolutely invaluable.
ckoelliker you aren't joking. Down here in Gainesville it's down to 27F, with the heater on it's still 65F inside. You ought to try flying without the canopy, it's not as hard as you think!

Yea, when my hobby funds hit zero, I learned that a canopy was not essential.

Sorry, seems as though this has become more of a build thread than anything.
