possible 643 carb problem

Hi Guys, I have been chasing a tune issue recently with my TRM231 and noticed today that the output shaft on the carb that drives the butterfly has a lot of play in it, not just up and down but sideways. I this normal for the carb to be like this as i can see that air could be pulled through this gap and be contributing to my overspeed/tuning problem.

sounds like it mite be time to get a new carb.
there should not be any play at all.

The carb body is most likely worn....these carbs are fairly cheap.
