Check for binding in the linkages, and control rod.
If you have the stock control rod, make sure your supports are spaced evenly and that the rod cannot bow or bend between the supports.
What servo are you using on the tail? Is it new?

wayne he's using GY401/9256 and i believe he's just breaking in his engine.

he told me that he zeroed his tale pitch at rate mode perfectly, so the gyro should be working fine..

he's current needle setting is 2.5 turns open.. i thought that was too much even for a new engine (OS.50 Hyper)..

his gain started from 85% down till 60% with wagging still present.. i think it could be related to the new engine being run very rich.. don't you think?

2.5 is way rich for a hyper, I'm surprised it gets off the ground. That will definately drive a gyro nuts.

Ali, It's rich....really rich. Lean it to 2 turns and test hover, if it's smoking good, and not too hot see what the tail will do.
Most of my 401's wag until around 63%(20mm wheel), So you can go lower, about 35% is the lowest it will resemble holding, lower and it will torque with pitch changes pretty bad.
If he's using the 20mm wheel the limits should be set lower on the gyro, and 0 delay with a digital servo.
FWIW: the 5 & 6 hundred series of Gyros work best around 34- 37%.. (501, 502, 601, 611)

It's looks like the is the engine cause the wag problem. I'am running a .50 Hyper. Stock needle ajustement is 1.5 turn. I have starded with that and I was obligated to learn 0.5 turn to be ok. The engine come not too hot.

2.5 turns, it's very very rich. Me too I'am suprise he is able to take off with this setting. Try to learn your engine. I have saw that on other Raptor .50. It's was the same problem. Engine tuning....

Try it...

you guys are right, its almost imposible to take-off at this setting, i think the trouble of controlling the flight with this setting was masked by the governor he was using, i'll advise him to turn the governor off and get the engine to be leaned out ..

we'll see tomorrow i guess, thanks for the inputs pals..
