I just got a Raptor 50 airframe from a guy for $350 with all metal head other than grips. Has green paddles too!

Anyways looking at getting a kit from TPpacks.com Any sugestions, ideas or information would be great. Never had a Rapter before and making it electric is something else I've never done

Thanks,

Jeremy

I'm kind of looking for more information than "they are a hoot" :)

You own one?

Yep, raptor 50 titan with a tppacks conversion using hacker A50-12s and 9s v28 cells. Flys just like my raptor V2 with tt50, only smoother.

I know TPpacks has a kit for $239 it comes with a NEU motor. Know anything about that kit? Do you have the TPpacks ccpm converstion on yours?

i choose to stay with the mech mixing.
neu motors are great if you can get them but the z-power 50 and hacker work very well and cost less

I want to make it bad ass so I'm giong for the NEU motor and CCPM kit. I can't afford those high dollaer li-pos so I will be doing the V28 cells.

Actually, if you are going run eMolis, I'd recommend the Hacker A50-12S, and run it with a 12s eMoli setup. the Hacker has a lower kv, and can easily handle the extra voltage, if you also use the R30's 85T/9T gearset combo. I'd also switch to the Titan boom/belt, and run it with 620 blades, when they start showing up next month.

The eCCPM kit will get a lot of weight out, as will a switch to the new fiberglass canopy. By doing these few things, you can get the AUW, even with the heavy 12s eMoli setup, down to about 8-1/2 pounds, which is nothing for a Raptor, especially with 620 blades.

You need to understand a couple of characteristics about eMolis. They have a slightly lower "nominal" voltage, so you need to run at least one more cell, usually, to get similar voltage. The other point is that eMolis have a lower "C" rating than most LiPos so it is better to go up in voltage, and down in current, in order to get equivalent watts. In any case, the 12s setup has gobs of power (more than a typical 10s configuration...), and you can still get about 7 minutes flights.

If you haven't purchased everything yet, send me an email. I've got a ton of stuff that's not on the website yet, including Phx HV 85 controllers, the aforementioned fiberglass canopies, Titan booms/belts, metal hubs, hardened shafts, metal washout assemblies and even complete Titan kits. I can make a pretty good package deal.
