Is the Stratus new fuel tank out ?
In the June 'Model Helicopter World' meg, on page 61 it say ' New Design Fuel Tank Now Available '
As it say " Now Available " if i am not wrong, it mean that now it is out for sales already. Do you guys know the part number for it ?

You would have to email Dave Wilshere of Motors and Rotors in the UK. He is the person that places the ads in Model Helicopter World I believe. Motors and Rotors is the UK distributor/importer for MA.
I don't believe the tank has been released for sale yet. But I could be wrong.

The ad was timed to coincide with the availability of the tanks based on an expected delivery. Unfortunately, the tanks aren't in yet, so there's not yet a part number....sorry

I have a Stratus Kit on order with Ricks at the moment. The Kit is currently being put together at MA (understand they ran out of starter shafts for a while) and the shop anticipate receiving it in the next week or two. Do you think I'll get a new fuel tank in my kit or will they still be pumping out the old ones until they run out? What's the difference between the old and new tank?

the new tank is custom molded to specially fit the Stratus, which makes the most efficient use of available space to hold fuel. I don't have an available picture but I know that several have been taken and posted here.
Don't know the exact date the tanks will be availble.

The new tank really does make best use of the space available! It doesn't look quite as transparent as normal fuel tanks from the photo. Thanks for the photo by the way jambo! I don't suppose anyone knows if these tanks are being dispatched in Kits at this point in time (I'll have to ask MA)? Can anyone give an indication of how much more fuel this new tank holds?

The tank in the picture above is a block of foam. That was the mockup to see how it would fit in the frames.
The tank holds 20 ozs of fuel. The actual first tanks that were produced the plastic was a semi transparent white is what I have been told. When the tanks are actually sold they are suppose to be about the transparency as the current tanks.
No the new tanks are not being sold and have been put in any of the Stratus kits yet.

Cheers David, I'd really like one - they look great. What volume is the current tank?

i wanted to ask the same question. I saw Eric using the new tank on his Stratus during the XFC :glasses2:

Eric has been using the tank since HTC in Taiwan. The tank he had at the XFC is first run limited production. A few of the Team Pilots are using the tank to make sure that everything is OK. I believe the first run of tanks have been ordered and should be ready to release in the near future.

Going on the thread above, the new tank will hold 20oz (591.47 ml). How much do the present style of tanks hold? I understand that it will fit the space better, but will the volume go up a little too or is it purely a matter of aesthetics?

The current Nalgene bottle type tank is rated for 500 ml ( 16 ozs). It will actually hold close to 19 ozs. Yes the new tank will hold more fuel and will fit in the model better.

How long can it take ? It's only a fuel take not a brand new head or complete new heli . What can the testing involve , run it inverted for 5 tanks , Hard 3d it , Done !
Maybe I'm just sick of waiting . :arggg:
Oh well , another two weeks like the joke goes , lol. :(
Jason .
PS. could be worse , could be waiting for the Synergy , LOL LOL . :arggg:
