Hi All... New here to this forum.
I thought I would share my Vibe pictures.
Check out my gallery as I did the Curtis Youngblood Blade grip flip mod and took all kinds of pictures of it.

Feel free to ask questions!

I LOVE IT and this is one of the best flying heli's I have ever owned....

Ours is doing very well. The OS SZ engine is running strong.
I just did the blade flip but haven't tried it yet.

Is there a conversion kit for the CS to become a Vibe, and would it be worth the $$$?

I ahve been considering upgrading to a Vibe or a Stratus, but if I can upgrade my CS, the descision is made.

There is no conversion kit nor do I think there is a plan to have one.

My understanding from a JR rep that there will be no conversion kit from JR but who knows if K&S (KSJ) will be doing one..... It sure seems like there would be a market for one ;)

Also he explained that you can convert one but it will almost cost the price of a kit in parts!
The frames are suppose to be different but I dont know that for sure since I did not have a CS before this. Of course the head, swash, etc all newer and different.

I did notice there is a LOT of commonality though...... It would be interesting to price out the parts to do it.

The only Vibe owner I know has been waiting two months for backordered parts. So, if you have one, DON'T crash it!

Thanks GOD I have not crashed mine yet :dance

I know there are parts issues in my area too.... When I broke the platic end off one of the boom struts I had to scrounge my LHS's for a CS one since they are the same..... Only one hobby store in mya area (MTA hobbies) has ANY CS stuff and it is old stock....

This is straight from Horizon. The LHS has ZERO parts in stock cuz nobody flies 'em. He called around (Rick's, Heliproz, etc) and nobody has them in stock. They are all waiting for Horizon, who I assume, is waiting for JR.

It is really too bad that JR kinda dropped the ball on the vibe. I remember when the original Vigor came out, it was the thing to get. Then the Fury came out, and the Extreme pretty much replaced teh Vigor. If JR had released the Vibe back when they originally said they would, maybe there woudl be a different story on Vibe parts. :dontknow

Lets hope this is not an indication that becasue Vibe Sales are slow part will remain a problem?

I think I will as the JR rep in my area what is going on......

The Vibe is just an improved Vigor CS. Improving a Vigor over time is doable. I'm considering going to the new Vibe head. My Vigor already has the crown gear support and rudder linkage ala the Vibe. Only things left are the head and clutch. i don't consider the frames to be that much of an improvement.

They should have built a worse machine so people would actually post about it

HA! Good point! Other than the tail control bell crank mod thats in my gallery, and the Youngblood grip flip mod, there is nothing wrong with this heli! The grip flip was optional but I do think the bell crank mod is needed! other than that... great heli...

Do you have one?

Damn, you own three of them! If I would've had better customer service from Horizon when I had my cs I would've gotten the VIbe. I have yet to see one fly in person though. I would like to see CY fly one.

Can your friend not use MA parts on it Rob? I know when Curtis and Anthony flew with us last year at Black Sheep after Joe Nall, we saw some MA parts and some other brand (I don't remember) parts on their helis to keep them going when JR parts were slim or non-existent.

Amazing how close our helis still are to the Schluter tree, even after all these years. :noteworthy

The Vigor/Vibe is a Horizon exclusive helicopter. Yes JR probably makes the parts. But that is about all they have to do with it. Horizon is the one that packs and markets the heli. Unless it is has changed, the rest of the world has to get the Vigor/Vibe from Horizon. I don't think JR has too much of the blame.

Interesting David. I stand corrected, when Horizon did not have the parts. Not JR, sorry about the error. Thanks for clarifying it for us.

David the Vibe is a JR helicopter people in Europe had them up and flying before they were available in the USA. The USA Vibes were shipped in a container and the European Distributors had their's shipped air freight according to Mac Man at Mac Gregors in the UK.

I always thought parts prices through Horizon were kinda what drove people away from the Vigor/Vibe. However, after looking at the prices on Horizon's site, it appears that for the most part the prices are in line with what most others charge with a few exceptions being more expensive and a few exceptions being less expensive. (Pretty much like every other heli manufacturer.) For example, breaking the main frame on the Vibe would hurt the ol' wallet big time while getting a painted fiberglass canopy for their asking price (I think it was $85) seemed like a good deal.

Maybe it's the old problem of not many of the products being at the field so interest is not peaked? Look at how many Hirobo's, TT's and MA's there are at a local FF. When somebody is shopping for a new machine more than likely they will go with one of these choices just because they have seen them in action up close and personal and have their buddies to chat with about setups and such.

Very true! I bought my Vibe Becasue Marty Kunz the Field rep let me fly his. Now we have 5 people out at out field with Vibes!

Funny 3 years ago when I started going to this field it was all Raptors... Then it swong to Hirobo's and now in the 90 class it is more Vibes!

Well crap. I was thinking about parting out my fury and getting a Vibe, but if parts are an issue..................

Vibe parts are in stock, as an example goto Horizon's Website and in the search block at the top type "V9" and in the drop down box select RC Helicopters. This will pull up all the parts that are for the Vibe in Horizon Catalog, as well as give you a status of when they are due. These are the parts that HORIZON has in stock, and since Horizon distributes to the major Heli stores and local hobby stores, many parts are already out on the market. Similiar results are seen at Heliproz when you do the same search. So between Heliproz, Ricks, and Horizon itself there is a pretty good supply of Vibe parts out on the market as we speak.

I found the Vibe to be very robust and rugged. Some early season autos (piro and aerobatic) have resulted in some hard landings, no boom strike, however, I have bent the upper mixing arms, simple replacement. Just a point of reference if you are thinking about getting some repair parts on hand.

Overall the Vibe handles very well and is very predicatable and the best compliment I can give it is that whatever orientation/flight direction/position you put the model in it just holds it and flies well.

I have some pictures and video on my site at

www.rchelipilot.com

Just my 2 cents worth, feel free to PM or ask any questions

Can you honestly say that you're surprised? Let's be honest... Horizon/JR has never had what you would call a "dominating presence" in the U.S.

Ok, I take back some of what I had posted before on parts prices of JR heli's. $33 for a Vibe mainshaft? (Which is not even available until sometime in August.) That seems MIGHTY expensive.
