View Full Version : Carbon Skids Set

I just want to know will the carbon Skids set fit the Stratus with a Hatori 938 pipe with a OS91SZ ? coz i notice the pipe and the frame is abit close.

So i am scared after ordering the skids and i am not able to fit it up in my heli coz the pipe is in the way.

The three digit Hatori pipes have a shorter header than the SB's that are sold here in the USA. I have seen plenty of pilots with the SZ motor in a Stratus and using the stock skids and Hatori muffler. There seems to be plenty of clearance between the frames and muffler. But the ones I have seen were using the SB 17 or 18.

May i know what is the header length for the SB 17 or 18 ?

I don't have an SB17 or 18. I have an SB 16 with is suppose to be equilavent to the 996. The distance from the exhaust port to the muffler body is 25 mm on the SB16.
The specs for the 996 says 20 mm for the same distance.

So I would think the SB 17 and 18 are 25 to 30 mm in that same measurement as the 938 is 20 mm .

waa man. Then what do u think ? whould the carbon skids fit the Hatori 938 without clearance problem ?

I have no idea. It really doesn't matter how close the muffler body is to the frames. If it doesn't touch them, it should be fine.

The struts on the Carbon skid set are only about 3mm thick. So they would only be like
3mm more out from the A frame piece that is there now.

Doesn't really matter. All the 3 digit number mufflers seem to only have 20 mm from the exhaust port to the body of the muffler.
The SB designation Hatori's distributed by Hatori USA have at least 25 mm from the exhaust port to the body of the muffler. That is what I measure on my SB 16.
