Heya - I have a rather eclectic collection of Lipos - and the ones I'm buying now are starting to rock up with balancing leads. The cabling is a non issue as it's not exactly rocket science - I will purchase a balancer and either modify my pack leads to suit one adapter, or make several adapters and leave the packs alone - probably the latter as there is less chance of a balls-up.

Thing is - I may well build an e-rappy soon and that will need an 11s pack.

I want to buy a balancer to do all my batteries but the ones I've seen so far only accomodate 5s at most.

One brand I like plugs into the taps and balances the cells whilst the battery is charging from the main power leads (not via the balancing leads). It disspates overcharge through resistors.

I'm guessing with something like an 11s pack, I'd simply have 2 of these balancers hanging off the pack?

Actually - I think I've just answered my own question. Looking at 10s / 11s packs - they have 2 balancing leads. So 2 balancers are needed (or you could be really tight and balance each half seperately - via the discharge method and then do a non-balanced charge).

Guess I'll get the Flight power 2-6s balancer and then get another when I need to do 10/11s. I like the flightpower setup as it's not an in-line balancer.

Also consider the AstroFlight "Blinky" balancer. It can handle from 1S to 6S packs. Cost is $25 per unit.

I use the Jochen Guther design produced by CSM in England, and have used them for several years now.

With these circuits soldered to each cell there are no limits for cell count, and you donīt have to connect anything else than the charger to safely charge the battery.
