Thanks for posting Mike.

This is my club's event. It's always a fun and relaxing time with pleanty of airtime for all. :)

Most of the Midwest Bid Dogs are usually there (Pete Niotis, Jim Stark, Steve McFall...).

The 19th annual Watervliet event was a nice weekend with good flying and lots of technique and setup help being passed along by the better fliers. Chris and Larry Bergen smiled alot and there were 3 beautiful Bergen Turbines there. Pilot attendance was modest at about 16-20 there. Coming off of IRCHA and with a busy back to school/end of summer weekend and big fly-ins next week at Belvidere and OC BOB's it was tough weekend. No crashes of any nitro birds, just lots of Trex dinging. Man those things are fun and so cheap to fix. My thanks to Malorie and the Michiana Choppers. Hope the 20th is as good if not better. IMHO,
weather was perfect and fall in that part of Michigan is great, would love to see the event just after Labor Day. Always a great place to get help.

The pilot meeting on Sunday was great!

"Hi, I'm Shawn... hi, I'm Chris... hi, I'm Malorie... Okay, meeting's over!"

The food was great (Rick Johnson works a mean grill!), the people were fun (even Dan, who had the audacity to set up his tent with Miniature Aircraft machines right next to the Bergen crew... what nerve), the weather held out all weekend, and it was just a great time for all!

Having the county deputy stop by was pretty cool, too. He hung around for a while and seemed really interested in what was going on. You should have seen the best part, though - at one point, the deputy went up to Nicholas Bergen (Chris' youngest son), and started in on him pretty good. He was asking Nicholas, "How much are you supposed to be selling pop for... 50 cents? Well, I've been hearing complaints from people that you've been charging a full dollar. Where is that extra money going? You realize that you're guilty of false advertising, don't you? You know that's against the law, right?"

Nicholas' eyes were as big as dinner plates! It was great!

Many thanks to Chris Bergen, Malorie Zastrow, Mike DeMetz, and Rick Johnson for a fun weekend!
