Just curious if anyone has done a stinger 50 electric using one of the TP Raptor conversions yet? I'm in the midst of converting my raptor and thought the stinger may make a great bird to convert also. I assume the frames are the same and the gearing, can anyone confirm this?
Thanks,
Chris

The gearing is the same, and the frames have all of the same mounting points.
It should work.
Please post if or when you are going to try it.

What are you looking for? 3D? Or just flying around?
www.eheli.nl has a stinger conversion kit, made for 6s.

Jeff, I want to get this Raptor done first and if all goes well I'll probalby pick up a Stinger by mid summer.
Scale applications more than anything. There are a lot of guys flying scale with the raptor brand and I think it could make their experience much better if they went electric at a affordable price. The Stinger looks like it may fit the bill quite nicely as a option.
Thanks for the link Laurens, looks like it will work!

Raptor 50 helicopter.
inclusief:
Motor Kontronik Kora 25-10
Regelaar Kontronik 55-6-18
Eheli motorsteun
Tandwiel
# Lengte: 1190mm
# Breedte: 232mm
# Hoogte: 432mm
# Hoofd rotor diameter: 1348mm
# staart rotor diameter: 244mm
# Tandwiel overbrenging: 8.5:1:5
# Fully Equipped Weight: 2850g
# Materialen: Titastic™, Aircraft Grade Aluminum, and Plastic
First part is basically the discription of the Stinger.
The middle part says it includes:
Motor Kontronik Kora 25-10
Controller: Kontronik 55-6-18
Eheli motor support
pinion.
So all you need to buy is a 6s lipo for basic flying around. The motor and controller can't support anything larger then 6s (just like the Trex 600).

55A on 6s swinging 600mm blades???
Maybe for gentle/sport flying... Anything remotely strenuous will over-amp that ESC in a heartbeat, but on top of that, it doesn't have the watt output. On the Logo10 they are recommending the 80A, and that is swinging 500's. Now 10s with the 30-12 (which TT just showed on their verion) is the real deal...
Szabos make anything look good, ref TRex600 video, it's all collective management, but if you watch the vid, there is no serious collective pumping or maneuvers that will really stress it. Us normal people would make it look pathetic ;)

Your right Pete, but this conversion is made for the beginners and sport flyers.
