I have not flown my Raptor 30 with an OS 32 for a while. The weather in the North West has been pretty wet. I have 36 flights on my machine. Today I took it out and was flying for about 10 minutes. I made a landing and let the engine idle down for about 10 seconds. As I added power the engine suddenly stopped, as if the fuel was shut off. Could this be a clunk line problem? I always drain the fuel after each flying session. The machine is a little over a year old.

I first thought it was a mixture problem but after checking the mixture and trying it again I got the same thing. As the power was increasing to where I was getting ready tolift off it quit.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Lets see;
Raptor.
1 Year old.
36 flights
Drain tank.
Stock Clunk line?

My money is on a bad clunk line.

It would be worth while to replace all of the lines. Don't forget the clunk in the header tank.

Jeff,

The clunk line is stock Raptor. I will order a new one for both tanks.

Thanks for your advice.

This may not be your problem but I had something similar with my Raptor 30 but I have a TT 39. My low end mixture was to rich so every time I went to idol up it would die on me like I killed it. One of the guys at the local field saw this happen and helped me fix it as I didnt know there was an adjustment for low end. Just something that might help not sure if it's the case but I know my issues was similar and I had many flights on mine.

Blakhawdoc,

I was wondering if the mixture was wrong. The last time I flew my machine was in Feb and the temp was around 45 degrees. Yesterday when I flew the temp was in the mid 70s. I will get the mixture corrected along with a new clunk line.

Thanks for your advice.

That much temp change will have an effect on the mixture.

Jeff,

I thought so as well. I still need to get a handle on how to tune the engine. I am going to read the manual, again, when I get a little time before my next flight, or should I say attempted flight.

Thanx,

Ed
