The best thing you can do for a remote glow adapter is make one yourself. Use the glow lighter end, some clear (fuel proof) lamp cord, a small alligator clip (radio shack) and some shrink wrap. Solder the wire to the glow lighter end and the alligator clip. Don't forget to put the shrink wrap on. This puppy will last for years and no, the alligator clip does not short out on the head unless your're really a klutz.

Thanks Bob Looks easy to build . I will build one for my Rappy.

Yep, CapeBob is right on with this. Works even with Viper Heads and the C-SPEC PS and Viper Head in the 90STD Shroud. :) Good advice Bob!!

I like that but the problem I've been having has not been with the ends but with the mount. When I go to make the whole bigger to fit my R70 it weakens the mount and breaks right there. I end up with good glow wires just no mount.

I wish you had said something about that a week or so ago. I just threw away like 12 of the mounts that no longer had a wire attached.

I got some kind from Dave at www.radicalrc.com that seem to last a hell of a lot better. So far like 20 flights on each of them and a crash on one and they are still holding together. Thanks for offering Bart.

After what I said about mine the thing died on me this weekend. I got a little heated and bent the thing off and threw it into the field in back of us. I'm not buying another. I'll just slip the canopy off from now on.

I'll be a bit blond here ................. what exactly do you mean by a glow lighter end :?: Do you mean a used glow plug :?: Exactly where are you soldering the wire to on the "glow plug lighter" :?:

Big
We are talking about a remote glow plug. It has one end like a glow plug and a wire that comes out of the back and attach's to the glow plug it's self. This way you do not have to take your canopy off to put your glow starter on it. Hope this helps. Then again I might be answering the wrong question. If I am just ask again.

Matthew, sorry I didnt make myself clear. I understand what a remote glow plug is as I already have one on my heli but its best before date is nearly due so was just going to buy a new one. After reading this post I thought I would just make one but am unsure with what bits and pieces to use. They talk about soldering a wire to the "glow lighter end" but dont know what they are talking about. What is the glow igniter end (as in what do you use for this i.e an old glow plug???)
