I did not put this in the video section because... well... if you are not into Aerial Videography this video is a bit BORING. It was exciting for me for no other reason than to seeing a LOT of my money flying in the air.

Thanks to Gixxer for being an EXCELLENT pilot. I did set it up and test it but I really would rather run the camera although I did a piss poor job. Anyway some factors:

- I did not have a video downlink
- It was CrAzY gusty/windy
- It was our first time

Lessons Learned:

#1 - Double check everything on the helicopter. We did find out that the Condor, Rig, and camera WOULD auto full weight :arggg:
#2 - Make sure the blades are straight out. The oscillation and resonance was amazingly scary
#3 - Pick a less windy day for you 1st time out

Anyway here it is: Quicktime 7 format - 65 Megs (http://danslagle.com/data/movies/DD1stAerial.mov)

Does the mount include some sort of dampening or did you make your own? Does the cam use digital image stabilization?

It does have 4 RC truck springs for dampening http://www.helicamsolutions.com/ I had the cameras image stabilization enabled but none was added in production .

Thanks Jeanette we have a long way to go but that is what makes helicopter great!

Yea we deff. had to work out a few things. It flew like a dumptruck in all that wind. The huge rotor wanted to lift in the gusts and the mount was getting pushed around ..... it was an excellent first vid with the wind conditions!!!

More to come for sure!!! :D

Dan are you flying the camera with the audio module still on or did you remove it? I have been using the HDR-HC3 as it is a little more compact. seems to be working fine. I did look at the model you are useing but the audio module looked to be in the way.

No I took it off. It has cheaper internal stereo mics on it.

Where are the HC3 videos Gary?

Still learning the editing stuff for now, flying shure is alot easier than sorting through the editing and posting stuff.

HA! too bad you were not closer. We would make an awesome team!!! The flying part is the part I hate. Not that I hate to fly but... it is hard to concentrate flying 6-7 grand.

Well I do the flying and am learning the editing stuff slowly, most of the stuff I shoot is protected by Non Discloser statements. I can't realy post the video that belongs to someone else. The people I work with re very good at the editing and production stuff. The project I am on now is a Television series to come out later this year.Pretty cool stuff. I wish I could post the video, take a look at the pic and I'm sure you will understand.

Big Dog!

Very good clean vid from that Sony - I might be jealous

I noticed that your mount is like mine and it creeps slowly even when the trim is set. Have you looked into what it takes to make the servo freeze.

Well I thought it "was trim" till I sat there and fiddled with it. Not sure exactly what is causing it. I have to call Jody tonight (for something else) and while I have him on the phone. I will ask.
