From the reviews, the JR 270 3D sounds like a winner. I might replace the Logictech 2100 on mine, which takes some time to setup. For now, it serves me just fine.

Kevin, Have a look here (http://www.rchelicoptertips.com/rc-heli-beginners/rc-helicopter-blades/). This link explains the different blade types.
I've never tried fiberglass blades before, so I don't know how they perform on the Cypher.

The F/G blades I have flown were between the woodies and the carbons. They flew better then woodies, yet were not as smooth as the carbons. For the price I do not think you can beat them.

If hobbypartz.com has them in stock, the shipping is $5.00.

We have been moved!!!!! is it because we got to big? or because this thread has so much info about this model?

Dru.

ok i have a question.. i noticed that my tail twitch happens bad on a start up but once the rpms pic up the twitch will stop, and it doesnt happen all the time .. no big deal.. but what bothers me is when im hovering my tail will twitch to the right causing the nose to move left.. i thought at first my gain was to hight but honestly i dont even know how to adjust my gain correctly (i figure the higher the % the higher the gain?) right now i'm at 27% ...should be fine.. so why the twitching nose left?

~Dru , we're the OFFICAL CYPHER FORUM now :YeaBaby: so now the question= do we keep this thread going or start NEW SUBJECT ones?;)

oh, thanx for the 411 on the blades:thumbup: http://www.xheli.com/60p-pro-3252.html (http://www.xheli.com/60p-pro-3252.html) like 3$ here

Hey All,

Last weekend I talked with Will from Support about moving us to an official forum of our own as this thread has grown quite big. You can relax now, unbuckle, stretch or get yourself a cold one, because we are here to stay! :cheers

You may keep posting in this thread if you like, but new threads with topics are easier to find... ;)

Kevin, it sounds like this twitch is intermittent, my guess would be binding of the tail linkage, emi interference to the gyro or maybe a loose tail belt.

1. Does this happen with the blades off when adding power?

2 Test the tail belt tightness by holding the tail rotor while turning the main rotor head, does the belt slip easily on the tail gear?

3. For emi interference, try ferrite rings with the ESC cable looped around the ring a few times. Also one on the gyro cable to Rx.

Mr Vechlor I guess I'm kinda confused about Cypher thread becoming a forum. I'm not a computer wiz so maybe you can bring me up to speed as to what this means.

Chris, Now that we have our own forum, we are on the radar for others to find, listed on the root page as a sub-forum for all to see. With just one thread, no one will see it from the root forum page, almost like a needle in a haystack. I came to the freak but never saw a forum for the Cypher, I found this thread a long time ago by Googling it.

With a forum, we can post individual threads, updating that thread as you see fit. Finding new thread topics is now easier and more organized for others to read. There is a lot of info in this thread, but it's hard to search though and easier to just make a new post. Thus answering the same questions over and over again isn't very efficient. I don't mind really, makes me feel a bit useful..

Also, with the increase in Cypheraddicts, sifting through all the posts after being gone for a few days and replying to them isn't easy, I notice some posts go unanswered too and end up buried .

I hope that answers your question.

ok...so i think i need a NEW ESC :( i was tryin to figure out the twitch .... only when main blades are spinning -little over quarter stick- ? AND tryin to figure out drifting problem ( turned rod link one turn , i THINK it worked ) when ------- NOTHING! died 6" off the ground :arggg: WT-!? so i un-plugged it , waited and plugged it back in.. my little "beeps" were faint and when i gave it throttle the motor kinda was shaking/skipping back and forth.. so i shut it down, let it cool, waited... and waited... try'd it again.. started to spin up like normal then---- same thing ! soooo..... new esc or new motor??? anyone have this problem?

~Vechlor, belts tight .. maybe esc has somethin to do with it??

Something could be wrong with the esc or motor, sounds like a loose wire connection. Whats the stat of your Lipo, are all cells reading 4.2v when fully charged?

I mentioned this before but will again. The electronics part I know fairly well been in it for 50 years.
First you HAVE to know what is normal. You NEED to take VOLTAGE and CURRENT readings when all is working well. Get a watt meter about $30 to $50). It will give you voltage amps and watts. You can see how hard your ESC is being pushed, how much your batt is giving you under load and much more. Just a suggestion. Doc in PA.

~Chris, how do i know what size i'm lookin for? i know to measure length but what about diameter and thread ? ~? just order an assortment , hope they fit?~

~Doc, you're talkin a regular voltage meter from walmart? does it come with instructions? never used one before.. maybe i'll go pick one up today.. do you have the numbers from your esc to see if they match what numbers mine will put out?

No this is a digital meter that goes in between your battery and esc power leads. Tie the heli or airplane down and take readings as you increase the throttle.Below is a like that has the Turnegy. I have this one and it is not bad for the money. FMA also sells one but for more$. Doc

Kevin, I would have started it myself if I knew how to post pics. I don't even know how to cut and paste from a previous post like you just did. I'm not too good with computer stuff.

to "cut and paste" is ez = hold the left mouse button and drag it over what you want to "copy" then when its highlighted in blue, click right mouse button and select "copy" then put your cursor ( pointer) where you want to "paste" and click the right mouse button and select "paste"

Kevin, Cant blame you. They take about 10 days. Tower has the Astro flight meter but they are $53. If you have one use a discount you can save $10 or. Link is below.
Astro is very good but you pay for it. I have one of those also. Doc

~~OH ! , i almost forgot... i was out flyin ( hovering) my Cypher the other day.. about a foot off the ground when..POW ! my tail blades X~PLODED ! i got it on the ground safely. what happened = the 1/2oz weight on the tail ( for balance/ cg ) came loose and smacked my tail blades ! my point = use more then just a few drops glue to hold in place :P skared the beegeebies outta me !

Kevin, That's my biggest problem NOW. If you are going to go for a new ESC I would suggest a 50 amp one. Not going to be any heaver in weight but will run cooler. I don't have my heli ready but when I do I will post what I find. Doc
