Our very own Mid America Miniature Helicopter Association is hosting the second-annual OPEN-FLY event for the 2006 season at Lake Jacomo, located only a few minutes from downtown Kansas City, MO! This is a MUST-ATTEND event for all R/C Helicopter enthusiasts! From interested hobbyists, beginners, and experts, this "Open Fly" is for everyone. Located only a few miles from the highway, with plenty of local accommodations and attractions.The site features on site food, Helicopter clinics, beginner courses, you don't want to miss out! There is a 40' x 500' asphalt runway to provide space for multiple flying stations and a large area for beginners to practice hovering. Other features include concrete startup pads in the pit area, plenty of shade trees and a spacious shelter house.There are also bleachers for the many spectators this fun hobby can attract.

Charles W. Reed III Flying Field [map] is located East of 291 Highway in Fleming Park (Lake Jacomo).Take Woods Chapel Road East from 291 Highway, turn right onto Rennau Drive, then left into the flying field parking lot.The field opens at 9:00am daily. The R/C flying field is across the road from the Soccer Field on Rennau Dr.
