View Full Version : 12Z Model Copy Quirk: A Bug??

So I copied my model to a new model slot and everything copied over fine. We were going to do some buddy boxing so I had to change the channels to match the 9C channel assignments. I then noticed that the pitch and throttle curves are reset (or did not copy over).

So it seems when you change the channel assignments it resets the curves. Everything else like trim settings, gyro gain, throttle hold, etc. copies over fine.

Is this a bug or do they have a reason for this?

Thanks!

I would guess it works just like changing the model type. That when you change model type within a model that all the settings go back to default. So when you change the channel assignment , the settings for that channel go back to default. I don't think it is a bug. I would think it is programmed that way for safety.

Makes sense...but why would it keep the trim, gyro, etc. settings? Those should be set back to default I would think?

This was mentioned early on with the 14MZ as well ... Done on purpose, but the radio gives you ZERO warning that it has happened. You need to remember to go through ALL settings whenever model changes occur and verify what has changed. Yep, it's dumb ... there is no "safety" issue or anything of that sort, simply a (lazy) design by Futaba. Personally it should have been a trivial matter to map channels and keep all settings the same. Curves are established against names like Throttle and Pitch, not channel numbers. Futaba can make this RIGHT if they so choose to!!!!! :(

I guess that's the Beauty of having a radio that can be updated??
