Thanks Gordie,

By popular demand, in addition to the normal (Class I, II, III and F3C) events we are having a mini electric event as well. Primarily, the interest has been in a class I event only but that can be amended if needed.

We will run (and complete) the mini electric event in one day (Saturday). Anyone needing help will have there pick from some of the best talent in the US.

If anyone needs additional information, please contact me:

caseco@comcast.net

Thanks,

Tim DiPeri

Tim,

If you like I could draw up some manuevers suited for mini E flying, and we could hold a non-rulebook event in parallel with the main contest. Something between Class I and II type flying...some hovering, some FF stuff like circuits, fig 8s, etc.

How bout it?

Just logged in at the Hotel (Worst Western). Had a good 10 1/2 hour drive up here from Tampa, not too bad. Hit some storms between Chatti and Nash, but not very long. It was drizzeling here when I got to the field this afternoon. Wayne and Tim were BSing under the shelter. Didn't get a chance to practice, due to the rain, so this will be a cold start contest it seems. I'm going to shoot for a warm up flight before the contest start tomorrow.

Stopped in Chatti for the TN Aquarium visit. What I nice exhibit! If you're ever going through Chatti again, it's a quick jaunt up 27 into town to the Aquarium. This nice, older couple offered us their unused tickets, as we were walking in...for free! So, the wife n I took the lil one to see some BIG fishes! VERY COOL! :glasses:

Anyways, I'll check in tomorrow evening and post some pics from the contest.

Cheers,

Erich

We had a great weekend. Temps were unusually cool for this time of year. My model and motor worked great all weekend . It don't get no better than this. Wish a few more guys would have practiced a little and come on out. It was really fun and dinner at Famous Dave's was outstanding.

There's a "Pro" and "Non-Pro" division?

Just curious... why the distinction?

I kinda like the idea of a nonpro division. It would seem to me that it gives a chance for the guys that do not have a lot of time or money to still be able to compete competivly

Gordie is not a pro? :thinking

That's what I thought. When you're sponsored by a heli manufacturer, a radio manufacturer, and a fuel manufacturer, aren't you considered a pro?

There is a little difference, well really a big difference.
The Pro Division is those pilots that are actually being paid money to fly.

Most of the pilots flying in F3C are sponsored by several manufactuers. But the majority of the pilots flying F3C here in the USA have regular jobs they must go to during the day.

I didn't know there were such people in the U.S. (the possible exception being Curtis). I thought pretty much everyone was getting their hardware paid for (or at least heavily discounted), but that was about it.

There is plenty of Pro Pilots here in the USA aka they are being paid to fly.
Both 3D and F3C.

There title is usually consultants.
Here are a few I know
Alan Szabo
Danny Szabo
Jason Krause
Wayne Mann
Curtis Youngblood
Todd Bennett
Dwight Shilling

There may be a few more. But those are ones that I consider Pros.

Pro Division is usually considered to be guys that have made the US (or Canadian) world team. Best I could do was second alternate. This year is another team trials year and I am working hard again, to make 3rd alternate <g>.

Put me down for 5th alternate. I don't think I even have to show up for that one......at least I can beat Kevin if I don't show up. he he he

Miss you at contests, Paul. Consider building an F3C Aurora and coming back to play. St Louis isn't that far away, with a jet ticket..............
