I was trying not to get too crazy with these first few flights, and that is hard when the machine flies this well right off the bat! Sorry about the glare and picture quality.
2nd flight on my 550:

Very nice.
That's what I'm talking about Capi!
Why haven't the blade manufactures figured out that bright color blades would be a big seller. Sure would reduce disorientation.

I'm a big fan of the blade stickers that are silver... they are great in the air, but look tacky on the ground.

Agreed, that shining prizm effect when you are flying is sick.

I justgot to watch the video. Great flying. Very smooth and fluid looking.Man, I sure have a long way to go. Ill never get there but I intend to enjoy trying:noteworthy Really the only thing standing in my way is ;Im too old, not coordinated enough, and Ive busted my hands up over the years pretty bad. Other than that and the lack of natural ability, Im good to go:smokin:

Nice flight Allan! Hey is that the soccer field along 20th ave? I don't know they have the lights on at night. Is the 4020-1100 better than the 4020-1390? I'm running the 1390kv right now and it seems that the motor is very hot after a very mild 3D flight. I'm running 11T pinion. I'm just using a shallow V-curve on idle up 1 and 2. How does the outrage compare to the swift 620?

Lose the V curve.... that will heat up your motor and Lipos. V's are for Nitros and Flats are for Electrics. If your going to insist on a V then make it no more than 5 points difference. Ex. 100 - 97.5 - 95 - 97.5 -100

Hey Mike, that's Norman Field on 13th by campus.
I'm not sure how the 1100 would compare to the 1390, but I imagine it would pull less amps overall. Power is PERFECT for my flying style. Battery comes down just warm after 4 minutes of HARD 3D and I usually only pull 3600 mAh or less. My motor also comes down kinda hot, however, the battery and ESC aren't breaking a sweat.
The biggest difference between the Swift and the Outrage are their cyclic rates. The Outrage 550 probably has the fastest cyclic rate I've ever flown on a flybarred machine in this class. The Swift 620 head is slightly more precise and tracks better in fast foward/backward flight. The 620's tail is control is also more solid, which could be due to the fact that it runs a slightly higher tail gear ratio along with a MUCH longer boom. The Swift is also slightly heavier so it isn't quite as poppy as the Outrage. Also just FYI, the setup on my 550 now is IDENTICAL to what I had on my original 620(6S with 560's) other than the motor, of which I was running a Century 600+(Z-Power Z30). I'm now piecing together an 8S Swift 620 which will be flybarless, and I'm sure it'll be a SMOKING machine.
Thank you everyone for your comments. I have a much better video that I'm going to put up in another thread, so keep your eye's open.:D

Don't worry James, without us bad pilots, how would the good ones know they were any good??? Everyone has a purpose in life. LOL.

Aah the field on 13th...I did not know you can fly there. anyway, I have the same result, the motor get somewhat hot but the ESC and the batts are OK. I did put the eagle tree on and the peak current I get during full bore climbouts is 98 amps. I was going to use a CC85HV but I'm leery now with that result. Maybe the third bearing on the motor mount is giving more resistance to the motor. I will try removing the third bearing and see how much amps I pull again. I am used to the flight characteristics of a V curve and I don't think it affects how much power the heli consumes. Al, did you end up doing a re kit on the swift or did you buy parts and did a rebuild? I think I'm going to try a Z30-1100 I have here laying around somewhere and see what it does.

Billyd,
So, basically what you are saying is, they are just damn lucky to have us, right?
Yea, Im feeling that! :happyd :wow2::happyd

It has more to do with stress on your ESC, Lipos and motor.
Imagine your out driving a car and you keep speeding up from 40mph to 80 then back to 40 over and over. A gov is like the cruise control on your car. It keeps you were you need to be without excessive stress on your motor, ESC and Lipos. If your V curve is to deep it's the same thing as the led foot driver in heavy traffic.... speeding up then slowing down excessively.
