Hi all

Sorry to drag this up again. Been away from this site for a bit, 550 has been sat on the shelf waiting for some nicer weather (we still have snow!! lol)

Since I'm in the middle of the indoor flying season, I've started to look at better batteries for my 450's....you can see where this is going :YeaBaby:

Evolite 2500's...better than the cells I have been using, any good in the Hurry?

Motor is now the Z-power (30??) one everyone was raving on about, everything else is as stock. Not looking for any 3d performance, more like hover, (very) lazy 8's etc.

Cheers

Pete

if going with LiPo I'd look closer at the Zippy 3300 from hobby city. cheap and gives a good flight time. glad to have ya back

+1 on what mystic says- the zippy 3300s will also work well in your 450s for some crazy flying time as long as they fit... (i assume your looking for lipos for both your 450 and your 550). however that whole idea that you can fly your hurri using a couple trex batteries is kinda garbage- you'll destroy the packs and only get a few minutes of flight. however, if the c-rating is above 20 you may be able to get a few minutes, especially since you're not using the stock super pig amp-sucking motor :)

I really wouldnt bother with 2500s on hurry

yes it will fly very well but not for very long

And the 3300 wont fit the trex

I can also recommend the 3300 Zippys they are very good value
the 2200 zippies are also very good value you may be able to stretch to some 3300 for the hurry and 2200 for the trex at these prices

For the hurry you will need two of these

Or one of these
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6419

for the trex you can use these that are 25c
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7636
or 30c
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7635

Have a good look through there website they have some good deals avaialable.
Zippy batteries have performed well for many people on this forum i can personally recommend them although I am no hardcore 3D stick banger.

Hope this helps

Cheers guys.

Think I may just wait until the better weather before I dust the 550 off.

Anyone want any snow? :YeaBaby:

I'll be back

you don't to be actively flying to hang around here... just think of this as a pub full of drinking buddies... just without the beer...

Ben

Hey Wazzer,

I have a standard plastic frame Hurri. Will the 6s 3300 Zippy's fit on the incline, or below? Or are you running a CF frame?

I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I don't think I've ever seen a satifactory answer. What total battery weight are you looking at to balance the 550? I know this will depend on long tail vs. short tail and boom mount servo vs. frame mount but we must have some idea of a sweet spot.

the zippy 3300 6s1p balance the long boom/tail mount servo very well and i think they're just over 500grams. not sure on the short boom tho

480 to 520 grams is the sweet for me with the short boom, 500mm blades and frame mounted tail servo. Anything more than 625g, your pushing it and won't gain much flight time anyway.

I use 3300 zippys on my plastic frame....one up, one down...works fine.
