View Full Version : Twister CP tail problem - is this the 4 in 1 Gyro failing?

Hi folks. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that I had to give full right rudder trim plus some right stick to keep my little twister straight in the hover. Then a few days later it behaved normally, needing just a little left rudder trim to keep straight. Now just flew her again today and the rudder needed full right trim and a fair bit of right stick. Also, if I suddenly throttle up she yaws strongly left and if I throttle down she turns right. Now its one of those artf things with a '4 in 1' ESC/RX/Gyro/mixer, and an electric motor for tail drive/control. The ccpm mix is fine and Rx works. However, this bird has been piled in a few times (I like to learn the hard way Lol). Does this sound like the Gyro function of the 4 in 1 is failing? If I need a new unit its about £65, which is 1/3 the cost of a whole new Twister and all its gear! The 4 in 1 does have gain and tail mix adjustment screws, but fiddling with these has made no differences what so ever......
Incidently, I'm trying to learn ff, fig 8's etc and this willful tail is making it very difficult. Just a thought, does anyone know if a normal micro gyro can be somehow wired in to work with the electric tail motor. Tail control has never been exactly precise with this bird, its the only characteristic that really spoils a nice little fun machine. I think that mechanically and as far as all the internals go this machine is a Honeybee and/or Blade clone as far as I can tell from pics. Please advise me if I really have to change the 4 in 1, cos I'd really rather put that sort of money towards my intended Trex purchase in a month or two :D Many thanks..... Rick
