Has anyone converted their/a 14MZ "Airplane" version throttle into a smooth Heli style throttle stick? I have a buddy that is selling his 14MZAP to a heli guy, but the guy wants the smooth stick over the ratchet and I totally understand.

Anyone ever taken the back off of a 14MZ and know where all the screws are to attempt this?

Thanks

There is no need to take anything apart. There are two screws accessed from the TX back that allows full adjustment of the ratchet for both heli and airplane modes. Refer your friend to page 17 of his manual.

As Phae indicated, see the 14MZ manual for info on how to do this ...

Below is a picture of the throttle gimbal; note on the left hand a metal bracket held on top by a phillips screw and on bottom by two hex bolts. Left bolt controls tension on the gimbal; right is the ratchet. Turn right screw counterclockwise to loosen/disengage ratchet. Both screws can be accessed directly from the back of the 14MZ (under rubber cover) without having to take radio apart.
