What events are planned in Florida this year? Any early news that someone can share?
I am having an event in December here in Miami to start with..what else?

Planning on a repeat of my AMA/FAI contest and Funfly the first weekend of March 07.
Will be a new venue, most likely Can-Am Flyers near Zephyrhills.
Planning on running two E-W lines back to back to each other...one for the contest, the other for 3D/Sport/Anything Goes flying.

That is great. I thought I heard that was cancelled.
I will be hosting the PC event on Feb 16-18 2007.

Erich,
That sounds kewl.
How are you going to handle frequency control?
I would enjoy it because I could see what the competion thing is all about and not feel stupid for standing around (chicken to enter a competion without watching one first.)

Steve,
Freq control will require some compromises. Most of the guys in Competition are using Synthesized systems anyways, but I'd have to setup a priority system for channel assignments, in favor of the contest pilots, in order to keep things moving along. We'd know when who would be next up to fly, so calling in and reserving a channel wouldn't be that hard. Channel reservations wouldn't be long, as contest sequences only take 15 minutes at the longest (with startup and trim hover allowance).

There was rumour that the Mulberry event would not go on this year at this point it seems that it was only a rumour. However last years event could have used some "Spiffing Up".
If the guys at Imperial can pull themselves together this year and resurect a Mulberry event similar to a few years ago than it will be great.
I wish them the best of luck in their efforts.

If Doug Bruns and Jerry Hicks are running the event I believe that could be accomplished.

I hope your right David, maybe someone here on Helifreak can get in touch with those 2 guys so that we can revive the Mulberry event and make it a great event once again!
