In G3, I fly the Dominion 90 (heli).

I'm a beginner who is beginning to hover. I prefer thumbs to hold the control stick so I'm having a little trouble holding the helicopter in position (hovering), since it's hard to make really tiny movements.

I want to use exponential for the cyclic.

What setting do you think I should try?

Where in the program do I set the setting?

I tried to fly multiplayer online, but couldn't get connected. It seems my version is off and need to upgrade, but I only bought the G3 2 weeks ago. Why is that?

Also, how come there are only three servers I can choose from when I try to fly multiplayer? Thanks. A lot of questions, I'd appreciate answers.

I'm fairly new to flying helis too, but I've probably got over 40 hours on G3 with most of the basics.

The Dominion 90 and 60 are good helis to learn hovering on. They aren't as touchy as the smaller birds. Usually this is the case for the more scale choppers too, as they are larger, heavier models, and do not react as quick or as fast to stick inputs, so feel free to try the Bell 222 and others as well, if you get bored.

You can fly helis with just thumbs, but if you aren't already used to it because of previous RC experience like planes, or maybe cars/trucks, do yourself a favor and change to thumbs and index fingers. The control will be so much greater. Rest the transmitter in your lap, or on the table top and using your pointer fingers and thumbs, grab the sticks. Your other fingers will (should) naturally want to lay at the sides of the transmitter. When I grip the transmitter, middle fingers rest against the toggle switches for idle up and throttle hold, which seems logical, because you probably want to activate the switches without taking you thumbs and pointers off the sticks. Just a tip. Do what feels most confortable for you, but if you haven't yet gained a preferance from other RC-ing, do yourself a favor and try the above. You'll get used to it very quick, I think.

As far as I know, there isn't any way to adjust the exponential for the transmitter in G3. I've looked at all the menus, but maybe I'm wrong? Someone else will hopefully chime in. Perhaps you can use your own radio instead of the provided one and adjust the programming within the radio?

Multi-player online doesn't work for me either, but I guess you can fix that by uploading an update or simply registering your software on Realflight's website, which I haven't done yet. Check out the other thread not more then 3 places down from the top titled 'multi-player issues'.

You can change the expo by going into edit model and I think it is in Radio setting or Electronic. The settings are at the bottom of the model edit page. You have to change the settings for each model seperately. There is no global change for the whole program.
