I replaced and soldered onto the end of the XTR interface an old servo extension keeping the futaba female connector and now I can use any radios DSC cord on the sim. :smokin:

Hi Chuckie
How did you connect the cables to the Phone Jack?

The cable that connects to the usb/rj11 jack should have a futaba square end and plug for the RJ11 end.

You have the USB/RJ11 adapter right? The USB goes to PC, the RJ11 (phonejack) will connect to the cable that came with XTR.
The cable that came with XTR should have two ends, one with a plug to interface your controller (Futaba Square in this case) and the other a RJ11 (phonejack).
The normal DSC or buddy box cable is different and will not work with XTR without modification. The end would have to be changed to a accomodate the RJ11 interface.

Thanks for responding Clay.
Just solder the servo extension, cutting the male side, to the XTR cable where you first cut or unsolder the radio side connector. Leave the rj11 side intact. Then use the DSC cord from what ever radio and plug the male end into the servo extension. Then your done. You have a universal connector for any radio with a DSC cord.
