View Full Version : HELP TREX FOR G3 SIM

PLEASE help me someone, I can not get the Trex download to work on my G3 sim it gives me a message that Trex failed to register and it might be on a add on disk. I have the current update for g3 and I'm reasonably sure I put the files in the right place's there is a sure method of installing the TREX can someone please post it in a simple walk through type post due to some of us IE myself are not all that clever when it comes to computers. :?: Thanks in advance

I've downloaded a few versions, the one here needs add ons 3 I think and the one on RR needs the expansion pack....which I bought today and the trex appears to work fine.

I bought my expansion pack at the LHS and they had all the add ons also...didnt want to wait for ebay or pay for shipping.

Should be able to buy them at most any hobbie place or online store...heres towerhobbies selection.

Not trying to butt in, but the model from trextuning is based on the concept EP, which is on add ons 3 as 70bee says. I think the other one is using the MX400 from the G3 expansion pack.

hey there...not sure if anyone has found this one for the T-rex...i was sent a link after purchasing G3 with EP1...its a modded mx400 but is much like the Rex SE.

If you have the right expansion packs/add on packs and still get the failed to register message you should pay close attention to error message generated.
Usually this says something like C:Program files/RealFlight/Planes/Trex 450.pln failed to register.
Check that you have put your files in THAT folder as well as in any other folder that seems relevant...
Sorry to be a bit vauge here but I cannot remember what the exact path was that fixed mine.
I think it was C:Program files/RealFlight/Planes/Trex 450.pln vs. C:Program files/RealFlightg3/Planes/Trex 450.pln - That little ****g3 directory had to be created and the files had to be dumped there before it worked.

I installed the Trex after I had all the add-ons already installed. According to my product list, the Concept is on add-ons 4. Is it on three or four? I've been telling everybody four.

Yeah place all the files you open up from the download in the custom helis folder if memory serves correct, but it must be all the files to make it work.

Ok, I just checked out the Realflight site for verification. The Concept EP is on add-ons 4.

Possibly a silly question, but how come, with the bazillions of Trexes out there, RealFlight doesn't just include one on some add-on/expansion pack?

The version I have is very twitchy and a "handful" to fly. I think I got it from trextuning.com - it's the one that doesn't require expansion pack 1.

I'd love to see a 450SE and a 600CF direct from Realflight. Hell, how 'bout a Blade CP as well? :)

This thread has my Trex, Blade and Logo 14. Somebody tweaked the Logo but never posted the mods. So it needs a little work. You need add-ons four to fly these. (warning to all interested. Don't install these without the add-on)

Sweet, I'll slurp 'em down and check 'em out. I've got a Blade CP runing already that flies very much like my CP, but I'll give yours a whack as well..

Now, where did I put that AddOns 4 CD......?

G3 will not run under parallels. It has very bad USB support. It will run under bootcamp. In fact, it runs very well.

It's just the BladeLike with a bunch of tweaks to make it fly like my highly modded CP.. I'm not sure how I can "export" all the stuff, but I'll have a look at it tomorrow when the jack 'n cokes have worn off. :)
