Serious issue
Issue 1
Brittle Stock Plastic Flybar Paddle flew out in the middle of the flight due to thread hole crack, causing the whole machine to vibrate like mad. Why can't they use a better material to make the flybar paddle?

Issue 2
Tail boom always loose after 4 flights regardless how hard you tighten it, causing loose belt tension. I can't imagine what will happen if I check the belt tension every 10 flights instead of 4 flights. Belt will definitely roll up on top of the Front Pulley 42T or entangle with each other and snap.
Why can't they manufacture Metal Boom Spacer Insert instead of a plastic one?

Issue 3
Front Pulley 42T always wobble. Since they are doing something about it, let's wait and see how good it is.

Outrage 550 will be a perfect machine If they manage to resolve all the material problem.

I read on here I believe that some people had sucess with Trex 500 paddles. My stockers still look fine. Must be some variations in the different batches. Seems kind of small to me.

I had a problem with my Swift boom sliding in and loosening the belt. The simple way to lock it into place for me was to wrap a piece of thin(not foam) double stick tape around the boom at the correct position and use a spare plastic or metal servo mount bracket.

Spread the bracket around the boom over the tape and have it rest against the boom mount. Tighten the bracket and cut off the arm that the servo would mount on. It wont slip till you are ready for it to.

I try to only tighten the boom mounts as little as I can to hold it. Once you gone all the way, it will actually neck down the diameter of the aluminum boom end a thou or two.
So far, my Outrage boom hasnt moved. I had to do the servo mount bracket to my E-620 Raptor as it would slip a little when the weather is cold..

The double stick tape that I use is only as thick as masking tape. It works great under the bracket.. I had to use a piece under a different brand tail box that wouldnt tighten up enough before too.

Sometimes a wrap of the clear "packing" tape around the boom where it passes into the boom block will do the trick. I think the plastic does a better job holding on to the tape. So far my boom seems to stay put. I have it marked, so it is easy to check. You may want to remove you boom block and make sure that it is not cracked.

The tail gear is a known issue and a solution is in the works. The paddles are far from perfect but most people don't have any issues with them once they are up and flying. This is the first i have heard of the boom coming loose. There is a tiny gap between the boom mounts so you can really tighten the boom down. A metal boom block won't allow any further tightening and would actually make it worse..... never mind the huge increase in weight.

Wrap your boom in packing tape. I had to do this on my old Logo 600. On my Outrage I don't have a boom slipping out issue. Packing tape should fix it.

My front pulley seams ok on heli. I would like something a little straight, but so fare I'm ok. My belt is looking frayed on the edges.

EVERY new heli has a few teething issues.... at least Outrage is resolving things quickly to produce the perfect bird. :)

Currently I'm OK with the stock paddles, but just out of interest, why are people going with T500 paddles and not T600 paddles. T600 paddles look like a similar area to the stock paddles, although obviously different shape. I read the info posted here on the effects of different flybar lengths, very interesting but counter-intuitive to me! Is there a similar wierd thing going on with paddles?

Done with my build, but a bit anxious to take this thing into the air...with the belt's snapping and the paddles flying off!

My friend ask me to apply abit of glue on the tip of the flybar rod before inserting into the flybar paddle.

I'm going to try the 600 CF paddles. I think the extra weight may help the forward flight characteristics.

fwiw..

Here's a sure fire for the paddle issue assuming it doesn't crack on assembly....Buy some gorilla glue at a hardware store...Apply a dab to the f/b before tighening...Align the paddles before it sets...Happens faster than you'd think...No problems with loosening, yet can be removed fairly easily for replacement.

If you do use Gorilla glue, make sure you get the Gorilla CA superglue. For many years all Gorilla Glue made was an expanding polyurethane/polycyanurate glue for porus materials. Put a couple of drops of that in the paddle holes and screw them on the flybar and you will have a mess when you come back later.
I see that they now have a developed or packaged a complete line of CA adhesives over the last few years.
