Hi all. Just about to buy a FF9 super. Everything has advanced so much since my plank flying days in the eighties - I'm a bit lost.
I think, say if I'm wrong, that a synth TX allows you to dial in any one of about 40 frequency numbers (in the 35mhz range in UK). So I just choose one to match the crystal in my rx, and you're good to go (assuming no one else is on that channel....) Just match the frequency numbers. Question is can you use a Synth tx (FF9) with a normal crystal Rx or must the Rx be synth as well?
I can see that crystals are much cheaper if you only have a couple of active models, but a synth Tx means you can have all your models fitted with different xtals and just dial in the frequency for the one you want to fly - great for busy clubs saves keep plugging xtals in and out.
Some clarification will be much appreciated, cheers Rick
