Hello all, I been looking at getting a new radio and I would like to know what is the difference between the JR, X9303 and the JR. DSX9 to me they look like the same radio, but for the price difference. Can anyone tell me what it is between the two. Any help would be appreciated Because I would like a new radio and any one of them would be nice.

The main difference is the X9303 has an analog trim for throttle and the DSX9 has digital trim. With all digital trims the DSX9 can be set to different modes (e.g. Mode 1 with elevator on left or Mode 2 on right). Note that transmitters sold in Europe may have lower power output to be compliant in CE requirements.

If you have a DSX9 in the US, Horizon, the US importer, will not work on it.

DSX9 is whole world model. X9303 is the model for certain countries.

I would like to thank you all for your input on this subject. So I should go with the JR.X9303 or the XP9303 again which of this two would be the one to get. the X OR XP again thanks.

Do you want to switch to 2.4 GHz or not? If you want to switch, get the X9303. If you want to stay on 72 MHz get the XP9303. Not sure that they even sell the XP any longer though.

If you are member of a klub in a eu country and have accident coverage "if you hit someone wiht youre heli", and you are using a us spec transmitter. You wil not be covered if the ensurance company goes trough your radio gear bekause you are using a transmitter that is not "Legal" in europe. And you will not be accepted to enter competicions with it. Thats what my local rc store told me. Also your us radio might disturb eu radios, and if you are unlucky some one might hold you responseble for ther heli losing radio control when you are using youre radio at the same time. This is the worst case senario. And my local store might be wrong. Worth thinking about anyways

Yes the DSX9 is world spec so it is what you should be on if you are in one of those countries.

The X9303 and other US/NA spec TXs put out more power which is illegal in certain world counties.

This is slightly misleading. Yes the DSX9 is a 'world spec'.
The MacGregor JR DSX9 is currently the only JR DSX9 that is approved under the R&TTE Directive 99/5/EC

Any other "grey import" DSX9 does not confirm with CE and should not be used in the UK. If you've been sold a JR DSX9 in the uk, it is a non-CE DSX9 and you are not covered.

The X9303 is allowed up to 500mW of RF with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 1W. (The ERP takes into account the gain of the antenna fitted). The European version must abide by the European regulations (EN 300-328 ) which limits the power output to 100mW ERP but because the Spektrum DSM system uses Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum a limitation of a Power Spectral Density not exceeding 10mW/MHz also applies.

Unfortunately this has increased the price of a MacGregor JR DSX9 to a point where it is beyond ridiculous. I mean £649 ($993) for a combo!!!!!!!!!!!:arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg ::arggg:

I don't know the benefit of mechanical vs digital trim.

The DSX9 got the switches for flight mode and hold the other way around, which is annoying. You can mod the switches though.
