That link takes you to the first post for my 450 videos. Are you saying you cannot download ANY of the videos listed? Or is there a certain one?
If none of the links work I have to tell you the problem is on your side as no one else is having a problem.. If it's just one of the videos let me know which and I will check the link.

Bob, you haven't uploaded any training videos since late last year, right? I have gone through all replies here probably 4 times already being the last time 2 months ago.... and if you haven't uploaded new vids and won't be uploading any other vids I will know not to expect them. Just to safe myself time since there are MANY messages on this thread :DOH
Thanks for the other training videos... they helped a lot.

Bob how about a rainbow and tic toc video............
Dear Bob—
clearly, flight videos are the natural extension of your excellent guides to building, fixing, and maintaining helicopters. Thanks to you I can build, set up, and repair my 450SE and have mastered basic sport flying. I have downloaded the current flight videos and am trying to work up the guts to try some loops and rolls. Certainly any further flight videos will be of great interest to me.
Thanks for all your help,
Glen

It is a HOT pilot doing 3D flying and a inset video showing the stick while he is doing maneuvers. This is just like my other stick cam videos so if you have not downloaded those you cant relate. I can't help you much being on dial up! Might be time to upgrade if you want internet media these days ;)

What I meant was that a note under the link such as "Tim performs his routine including the loop, roll, hurricane, funnel ... XXX, ZZZ " etc :)
No worries about the file size, I'd druther have the extra $200 a year to spend, as long as I can download vids, rather than watch them online

Hey Bob,
I was just compiling a thread when I stumbled across this one. As a newbie I am missing a step by step flight training guide, such as step 1: Hovering, Step 2: Forward flight, Step 3: Figure of eight etc etc etc
I have hovering, ff, and auto rotation under control, but what can I practice next??

8s, inside 8's, split 8's, loops, rolls, and flips, in that order.
But then again, I'm a n00b, so....
I think Bob and Kevin, during a Call Finless event, advised I should learn all aspects of upright flight, including backwards, before I worried about inverted. I think that they might have been a bit drunk, but it's something to think about.

Hey Bob,
Ye the greatest mann. I believe you're the rare ones who'd have a heart of gold not only in the nett but also in real. :).
Love all your videos, superb tools for pp like me, a newbie and Tim Jones stick cam is fantastic. I'd never dream of doing what he's doing even in the near future, way too advance and aggresive for me, lol.
Hey Bob, I've difficulties doing a perfect forward/backward flight flips/smaller loops. Everytime I exit or in the mid of it, the orientation/direction changes, sometimes tail went off tracked (yaw), tail turning in instead of side ways or usually looping/flipping towards me. So what I'd usually do is tilt it slightly away from me before I excute the loop/flip. This way it does gets better but still not always good. What did I do wrong or how should I correct it?
My rolls are getting better, THANKS to YOU. :)
Another manuver that I've trouble is flying circles, althou I can, turn using elevron and rudder, and not so full figure 8. I've trouble keeping its speed up/constance when doing circles. Wish you'd have some time spare to make a video on circles and full figure 8. A BIG THANKS once again for all your work.

Hi Bob, geat videos - I'm a massive fan :noteworthy. I'm trying to learn flips however I'm not having too much success - 1 successfull attempt and 2 epic fails (resulting in specatcular crashes and lots of $$$) :arggg:. What incouragement can you offer? How long did it take you to get the hang of flips? I can hapily fly around right way up - nose it etc, but just can't ge the hang of the flips.
Please help by providing some inspiring words of widsom.

i hope you tried flips in a sim first ... if not , get a sim and get comfortable with flipping in the sim and controlling the heli upside down. if you are comfortable with that, get up to a good altitude like 10 m, make sure you are in idle up and flip your real heli. as you get more comfortable, lower the altitude, keep practicing in sim.
actually thats how i do every new manouver with the heli...
step 1 : sim pracice
step 2 : real heli, good amount of altitude
step 3 : reduce altitude as confidence and precision increase
btw, quite many sims have training videos where pros show you how to fly manouvers and you can watch the manouvers and also the stick movements ... great help.

Thanks for that. I haven't really used a SIM so far as all I have is FMS and I don't find it all that useful. I have managed quite well so far without one. I have however studied all sorts of training vids - including Bob's - on how to do flips, loops, rolls etc.
How long does it take most people to master flips and how many crashes (if any) have people suffered in their attempts to master this 3d beginner move???

good question, in the sim i dont count crashes :) its far too many.
i think the problem with upside down is, that it is very confusing in the start and most reflexes are just dead wrong and the other problem is, that you cant escape the upside down part as easy as lets say hovering head on and just turning 180 degrees.
flipping back when things go wrong and then turning and stuff will have a high chance of crashing you i guess.
i personally bought the Phoenix Sim along with my TRex500 and i am very satisfied with it, it cost me like 90 Euros and that is cheap cos most crashes cost me close to that amount... if you add the time spent repairing, its far more than that. there are a lot of other advantages in the sim, like not having that being afraid of crashing feeling that might make you hesitate to do things and that hesitation might in the end just be the reason why you screwed up .... also if you practice enough in the sim you will get your reflexes right which is a good thing as well. and you can use the sim any time any weather, doesnt matter.
so i guess most of the ppl if not all would recommend a sim, if you want to start 3D. what sim and if you even need to buy one or just use free ones like FMS is personal preference and i guess you can read a lot in this forum about sims if you search a little.
btw, i find that although Phoenix sim is supposed to be very realistic that it ofc isnt quite like the real thing, but its mostly for getting the feel and confidence for a certain manouver and then i dont practice much of that in the sim any more, i just fly it with the real heli.

Mark's free HeliSimRC is much better than FMS :
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=53245
It has a "slowdown the sim" (simulation speed) feature, that's great for practicing new moves.
The "lock XYZ" training mode is also very cool.
