i've been watchin the auto rotation, for some people who didnt know when bob says flare it means to bring the transmitter stick from the negitive pitch to zero. you use flare when your doing autos from higher altitudes.

No... flair means pull back on elevator and stop the heli from moving forward. Thats called "flair".

Ok, thanks for letting me know i just thought flair was moving the pitch stick to 0 because everytime i saw you flair you moved your pitch stick half way. I got it now

Simply amazing. After spending a week using two sims (RF and Phoenix) and reading heli forum posts until I am blue in the gills, less than 60 MB of video explained flying a helicopter much better than all of the rest of it put together.
Thanks Bob, I owe ya!

Bob,
Thanks for the flight instruction videos. It allowed to to understand just how much more I need to learn just about hovering before I head out and start crashing and burning. :WOW

Great video's so far and much appreciated. I hope you haven't given up on the tutorials as I am sure there are plenty of new and intermiediate pilots out there who have learnt these skills a lot faster due to them.
If you haven't given them up then a figure 8's video would be excellent as it covers a few differnent things in the one exercise.
I have just read a great article in the RCHeli mag issue 8 whilst performing figure 8's to slow the Heli down for a moment as the nose is facing you. This will lead you to be used to what controls are needed to exit the hover back into figure 8's if you have a lapse in confidence. This would be excellent for us new pilots to see in action and I hope that you can get the time soon Bob to show us how it is done so we have a visual reference.
Some other basics that were in the mag that would be great to see you do would be, basic climb and decent, then the carousel. Hovering inverted was also there but as I am just learning how to hover tail in atm I won't mind you missing that one.

Think you can make a video or 2 on inverted flight and basic 3D?
Trust me... If you are to the point where you are ready for inverted flight, you wont need a training video... When you get there I think you will understand! Dont RUSH it and learn as much as you can right side up first! It wil help you inverted when the time comes.

Training videos are great, could you choose a background with more clear skies so we can see the position of the Helicopter at a distance?
Also, Could you do a video on setting up the XTR on a 14mz. I am having a time on setting up my sim.
Thanks!

Thank you Finless for the great instruction. :D
Just a quick note. You're absolutely right..........the CP is junk. I bought the CP Pro, had it for a week, and would highly recommend that anyone going from SIM, to flight.........do so with confidence in a quality bird. The 450 SA ARF is what I bought, have been sinking money into it ever since, still haven't flown mine yet, but a buddy let me fly his......Wow! What a difference. If you've got the money, save it........if you've got the time, spend it learning about the parts, their uses, the overall aura that is RC heli's. It's awesome. Do NOT, and kudos to to you for saying so, do NOT waste your money on the E-flite family of garbage. The CX-2 is a great learning tool.........but for my money, that's where it ends.
Jack
PLEASE PLEASE make more vids with the simulator.
The video of you flying on the simulator while EXPLAINING every little thing you do is PRICELESS. I can see and "feel" what you are doing step by step, even if things goes a little fast (unlike fast 3D videoclips).
I have ordered my 1st T-Rex, and Im getting a hang of basic aerobatics on the simulator. Your build videos are GREAT help, would wish you had the time to make some more simulator vids too.
Thank you Bob

This is THE idea of the century. Very useful, I'm playing the videos again and again, looking at the heli, then the sticks, then the heli, then both
More more more pleeeaaase.

OK I get asked all the time for flight training videos...
Doing it live in the field is problematic at best and you cant see the radio sticks!
So I am taking a shot at doing it with narration on a video of the simulator.
First up is how to learn to do Auto Rotations.
Please let me know if you think these are worth while, thoughts and suggestions, and if I should continue doing these?
