Anyone running the Synth modules on an 8103? (Does the model of TX matter?) I am looking for a little feedback on how well it works. Also, I noticed JR has several Synth RX available, what features make one advantageous than another. I am specifically referring to the single vs dual conversion synth rx ie the R2100 vs R2000. What am I giving up in terms of image rejection with the single conversion as far a model operation? Just when I thought it was getting simpler... BTW, I run the R649 right now without problems, which is single conversion. Thanks in advance.

As nobody had replied I will give you some idea.
You simply replace the TX module with the synthesized one and dial the frequency using a small plastic screwdriver.
With the TX left turned on, you push a button on the RX module which will make the the RX scan across the frequencies, once it finds yours, it then locks it in. This just takes a few seconds.
Just turn both the TX + RX off and on again to double check that it's working and you are done.
The Instructions are very clear about it.

Thanks for the info, Alfred. Sounds pretty simple. I have read the manuals (online) but there is no information on why one would choose single vs double conversion for a PCM Rx. Any ideas anyone? I inderstand the difference between one IF and two, but what I dont know is what that gets you in an RC receiver.

Simply said
A dual conversion receiver has a higher immunity to interference then a single conversion unit.
Me personally, I just wouldn't have a single conversion unit in my heli as the receiver has to deal with a far more hostile enviroment then you find in planes already.
