I am completing the build on my 700. In regards to the Align governor
that I am going to try I have read that even in idle up 1 & 2 you still need to keep your throttle curve straight (0%/50%/100%) in your radio.
In my 600N I am running a ATG and in idle up 1 & 2 in my throttle curves I am running a "V" curve such as (70%/50%/70%) so if the governor fails or turns off in flight it will not over speed the motor.
Any input from you guys out there using the Align governor would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

No that's not right. You should use a V-curve for the throttle in all idle-up modes even if you have a governor or not. You are controlling the governor via the gain channel you assigned for your governor, and if you made the governor active it will override the throttle-curves.
I'm not certain which radio you have, but if you have a Futaba you are not able to use the governor-channel. If you can, reassign that channel to Governor 2 or any unused channel, and labour with that.

I have 2 align governors installed, one on my 600 and one on my 700. Both are setup with V curves.
I would however recommend a centre point of slightly more than 50% as I found that the engine rpm drop slightly going through the centre point when set at 50%.

What is your governor set at for ATV? The booklet for this governor shows a table based on the trex 600. What about the 700?
Thanks

If you can, reassign that channel to Governor 2 or any unused channel, and labour with that. What you can do is enable the governor and plug it in on channel 7 with Futaba and use the Governor menu in the futaba radio with the flight condition switch. This way you can change each gov value with each flight condition. (i.e. normal mode (gov off?), idle 1(gov on, set value), idle 2 (gov on set value)etc)
You can also use gov menu on a separate switch with either two or three positions and get three different adjustable gov values with the align gov on Futaba radios as I believe you are trying to explain. Or you can just adjust the ATV manually without the gov menu I think.
Pretty simple really. I have heard a few people say the align gov does not work right with Futaba but I don't think that is the case. It's just sorted differently than spektrum. Should be even more adjustable IMO. You can set it on or off, and to two or three different values on any switch in the radio.

Vantskruv, your right about the V curve. But more important, the curve can no way be lower than 50% on what ever flight mode you will use it on, or the Align Gov will automatically deactivate when the throttle stick goes lower than center 50% and back on above 50%.
How do I know??? I was so excited about installing the RCG-600 Gov, that I didn't finish reading the last part of the setup in the manual. I thought it would over-ride the curve like the Futabe GV1 gov......WRONG.... Found out the hard way and almost plowed my T700 coming out of a hard flip.
PS: Never got an answer from randy45c. What Transmitter do you have? Do you need more help setting the mixes for the governed flight mode? Some TX have the Gov Menu and makes it sweet to set, like the JR 9303:lol:
