I dug out my old 72.08 MHz Kraft KP-6A radio tonight... In today's dollars I paid almost twice as much for that radio system as I did for the entire B400 RTF package.

Look at the bloody servo & receiver. Talk about old school.

Notice the sticks were designed for thumbs. Pinching is for asses. ;)

Retro, if it works for fashion...

That is cool though, Atari-esque. :YeaBaby:

How many points in the throttle curve? AND a built in wind sock! :D

Man that is cool to see, Although I am not all that old 31, I have a great passion for collecting vintage/antique stuff.

Are you thinking of fiting the DX6i guts into it?

Brings back memories indeed. The one I used had a round contour surrounding the pots, so must have been a later model. I also remember working on a few radio 'kits'. That was interesting, getting a box of TX parts and instructions.

you can send it into XPS and they will convert it into 2.4 using their chips, there is a guy at my club that uses one of those on a couple planes for shifts and giggles and he says that the XPS stuff works great

I had one like that about 35 years ago. Cool to see one again and it brings back some good plane flying times.
I also had a single stick one. The rudder was on the same stick as the Aileron and Elevator. Thanks!!:)

This is an awesome post!

Makes me laugh now when I hear people argue about DX6i/DX7 differences. They are both way superior to what people had to deal with back then.

im trying to remember where i saw this.
but someone is bring back that style of radio`s.
maybe they never left i dont know. but when i saw them i was like wow i can remember seeing that style like way back when i first got into the rc world.
my first flying toy ever was the cox control line plane. it held like 3 cc`s of fuel.
you had to spin the prop backwards then slap on a bulky battery.
i dont know how may times that stupid prop hit my fingures

Haha. Mine was a P-40 flying tiger with 3-bladed prop, and yes those little cox suckers sure liked to bite the hand that fed them... which was ok: payback generally came shortly after liftoff when they would head straight up and slam straight down into the ground.

Thanks for the memory.

Probably the same plane. I think mine was a little more vintage... probably 37 years ago, and I can't claim to have ever made a full rotation with it. It could well be the beginning of my dislike for nitro.
