That looks really good. I might even consider it myself. I really like the look of the all black head but the anodizing is so poor, you only have to sneezeand some of it rubs off. I keep trying to cover up the small marks with a black marker pen, but if it gets too bad I think this will be next.
Well done!

Looks great! What did you use for the final polish?

Just your basic "Mothers aluminum wheel polish" from the local auto parts store.
Then, I spayed on a clear coat, so it will hold a shine, and stand up to nitro exhaust.

It's no secret... I used a ceramic bowl. Put the part in, spray it generously with the oven cleaner, and let it set for 8 to 10 minutes. Rinse it off in warm water, and prep it for polish.
Repeat with the next part(s)
The down side... Once you get the anodize off, you can really see all of the machining flaws from the factory. That's where the polishing comes in.
My blade grips, and see saw were nearly flawless. But the mixing arms, and flybar cage had some issues. I had to spend a little extra time polishing the rough spots

Did you have to sand off any casting marks?

No. But there were some flaws in the machining that needed some attention.
If you look at the pieces closely, under a light, you should be able to see most of the machining marks. The black coloring does a good job of hiding it. Once you remove the black anodize, you can see all of them.
