Hello:

I just finished building a R50/V2 and noticed the Clutch bell wobbling when I turn the head. After checking the drive gear and clutch bell, I concluded the drive gear must have been machined wrong. My question is: Is there a tolerance or should I try to get my hobby shop to replace the drive gear with one that doesn't wobble.

Curt,
Your hobby shop should make it good. Be sure that it's not you clutch bell. There have been some clutch bells that have had the threads askew.

Could be the pinion is not seated correctly. Remove it and look for metal flashing which could be left during clutch bell manufacture and shave it off with hobby knife.
