still a work in progress... not sure if i want to move the aile and pitch servos to the side of the frames or leave them in the stock position, and get longer pushrods... but i definatly like the motor up top...
Excuse the pic quality. The camera phone turns out kinda crappy inside..

How about a pic of the elevator servo location. Doesn't look like the front position will work. Maybe making a rear servo mount would do ok. I have some 2mm G10 sheets and might just look into this too.
Good job so far.

Well... I haven't quite figured that out yet.. I'm still trying to decide on removing the A arm and bellcranks and doing a direct to swashplate link.. Since i'm using QuickUK links and control balls, i figure i'll make a anti-rotation bracket and use some QuickUK control balls with a anti-rotation pin.
Or "scabbing" a plate on the rear with a hole to mount a servo, kinda like the 600..
Today i fabbed up a battery tray to run from front to back, to strap the packs, Soon to be "pack" to.. It's going to be bolted to the side frames for this test run but the final version will be from carbon. with everything "keyed" together.
I threw this heli together last August `so it would be ready for the Southern Rotory Classic. At the time
i think Ray Nemovi and I were about the only 2 around that had converted TRex 700s to E Power. in the
USA any way... I was in a hurry, so i didn't make a lot of changes, and i didn't want to trash the stock frames.Well after a crash with it, frames aren't a issue any more.
I'll post some more pics of the progress tomorrow or something.
thanks

Yeah Chuck, a rear mount servo definantly worth a look. Be nice to make a simple bolt on mount for servo. ;)

could you use THESE (http://www.align.com.tw/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22_72_95&products_id=2253) to put the servos in the top front and get 90 degrees? not sure if the length of the arm is the same but I know the control shaft is the same diameter.

I'll look at them, Thanks.
One thing i've griped, complaned,B*%ched about is a 90 size that has direct to the swashplate links.
A setup or layout similar to the Logo helis. I fly with a buddy who uses a CNC router at his work, so this is going to turn into a custom set of frames when it's all said and done. The pain is fittng everything in around the exsisting the bearing blocks ect... But i'm hardheaded enough to keep banging my head on it till i get it the way i want it.:) This is the set of frames we designed and he cut out for my E Synergy...

Yes, the 600 just needed the 12s 3700 FP packs I had sitting there. The FP 2500 kites just didn't have the juice. Now it has more power than the Trex 500 and a 6min flight time putting 24-2600 mah back in the packs. Fun to fly!
I've got a 700 that will be here Friday according to UPS. ;)

that synergizer looks awesome, I like the direct drive tail, how many cells did you run the tail motor on?

RC.. sounds good...Are you going to Guthrie in April?
LMT I'm running 4s 3300 TP Extreme on the tail, and 12s 3850 TP Propower on the main rotor.
With the X Era motor at 11.24:1 ratio, It's got gobbs of power. This Trex will eventually have a flybarless head ect..it also has a Powerjazz going in it so when i get my hands on the right motor it will prob be
14s..
thanks

do you have to change the tail batterie every flight? I would think with a 3300mah you could fly a few times.

No i'm putting back about 800 mah after a 4 min flight so i should get at least 2 flights fom them.

Cool. May be able to do Sunday......
All of the 700 stuff is here. Now I just have to find time to build it!
I'll look at them, Thanks.

A setup or layout similar to the Logo helis.
Dude !
Why not just do a stretched logo 6003d then ?
I can't figure for the life of me why so many people are doing these trex 700 electric conversions.
For the same price as the trex 700 kit and conversion, you can get a logo 6003d with the v-bar gyro package and the boom and belt to stretch it.
You get a heli that was designed for electric, has the full v-bar setup and is three (!) pounds lighter ready to fly.
Way more performance for the same price.
I socked 4000 watts through one on 690mm blades for 6 months with zero parts failures.
Smack down 3d flying style.
I'm not trying to lip off, just food for thought.

Nathan

Hey man that's cool.. I'd love to do a Logo 700.. It's a long story but this project kinda fell in my lap.
and i just digg doing conversions. I haven't had a new generation Logo but i have flown Logo 10s and a Logo 14.. One thing is the Torque Tube. Had problems with belt driven tails on Logos and Raptor conversions. And haven't heard of 700mm size Logos untill recently. But yeah as far as servo layout on this, i'm duplicating the servo placement on a logo..To a point..
Other reason is the price and avalibility of parts for the T rex.. Altho i fly one i have a reputation at the local feild for ragging on Align.. Guess i'm weird...

Sometimes it's not just about performance. Sometimes it's not just all about the money. It's just part of the fun and the journey.
Personally, the molded plastic frame just doesn't hit a resonance for me. I'll bet it's lighter and I'll bet it's more durable but I really like stacked carbon. I can go to three excellent (and I mean world class; one of them is GrandRC) hobby shops within a short drive that have complete stocks of Align parts and not one Logo part in any of the three.
Finally, a stretched 600 is not quite what I'm after. I have both a 600 and a 700 and the 700 is at least 3-4" taller and just has a better "presence" than the 600. A 600 with a longer boom and blades just doesn't get there for me.
I realize that my reasons are all a bit fuzzy and shallow but, hey, this is a hobby. I spend my work week deep in precise analytical science and engineering working to the bottom line in the commercial world. On the weekend, though, it's just about what makes me happy. :YeaBaby:
Different strokes, I guess...

I don't think the Logo can compete in replacement cost. Nope...pretty sure it does not. ;)

The logo 6003d is actually noticeably larger than the trex 600, it'll swing 650mm blades stock.

Don't be too sure, it's actually a wash, some stuff for the logo is more expensive, some stuff for the trex 700 is more expensive.
Less stuff to replace with a v-bar head, but I personally don't buy helis based upon how they crash :D .
I hear you guys about parts availability, sure is nice to just drive to a shop and pick up parts.
I apologize for sounding like a fanboy !
Not trying to diss the rex 700, just letting folks know about other options in case they don't actually own a trex700 yet and are looking to do a 90 size electric.

Nathan

Hey I too have though of doing a trex 700E just for the journey. But here is some food for thought: My logo 700E weighs 3.69KG RTF with 10S 4200MAH lipo flybarred!!!
