Tried searching the forums but no avail.
I have a Blade CP that I want to try installing a gyro and Spektrum receiver.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

On your Blade..... it has the stock 4in1?

It's actually the Honeybee CP which is the same as the Blade. Yes, I want to remove the stock 4-1 and add a Spektrum reciever and a gyro.
And yes, I posted this in the Esky forum as well.

I have a Firebird and I want to install an automatic tranny in it. Any help? Oh, well, it is actually a Camaro which is the same thing. And yes I posted this on the Pontiac forum as well.

The catch is the 4in1...... you can't disable the internal gyro, so you can't use it when using an external gyro. It can, however, be hacked to add a seperate main ESC.

The good news is that it can be done.... you can chuck the 4in1, but you loose both main and tail ESCs. At this point, you might want to consider seperates. Most upgrade to a brushless main motor and direct drive tail at this point.

You'll need a main ESC, tail ESC, gyro and the new Rx. I'm not going to bother outlining the setup process, but I can help you with that too, if you decide to proceed.

Since you didn't specify the years of both vehicles, I'll just say that a 1975 Camaro with a 350LT1 4 bolt main will not have any issues bolting up a 4 speed auto trans from the same year and engine Trans-Am. FYI.
If you weren't sure if it was going to work, my advise to you would have been to speak to someone from both dealers, or possibly someone who had already tried, and see if it could be done.
But I like YOUR response better.
Keep up the great posts, I haven't chuckled this much in a while.:rolling

Nope, Doug. That was helpful enough. Thanks for your time.

Good deal!

BTW.... Sorry, forgot this one. A little different direction and cheaper.... if you change out the 4in1 for a e-flite 3in1 (maybe Esky too), you could add the gyro. You can get a 3in1 for about $25 or so, I believe. The gyro in the 3in1 can be disabled by turning the gain to zero. Same motors, just add the 3in1 and the new Rx and you should be good to go!

I like that idea, but I don't think my CX2 is going to give up the 3 in 1 without a fight.:)
Thanks.

You're bigger that it is....... you'll eventually win.

Of course, I'm bigger than my Blade and I'm not sure that I've won!?!?!?

Do you need to get a lil lovin' coldduck??? Youre livin up to your name today and turdin on everyone's posts! Shhhhhhh!!!!! you dont say anything useful, you are just making people feel bad for postin and ruining the vibe that the Helifreak community, with a lot more seasoned pilots than yourself, have tried to create - especially for those new with questions! Keep the smart remarks to yourself - or maybe when you post a question, we will all be smartasses to you.
