It was great meeting you at MHA Chad, wish I lived closer!!

You guys in thge area should DEFINITELY GO to Chad's event and support a local club in the area.

To give some background on the event....

There are no landing fees/event fees. No money is going to the club itself. There is a 50/50 raffle, as noted on the flyer, with all proceeds going to the Grace Oughton Foundation. For more information on the Grace Oughton Foundation, see this link (http://www.savegrace.com). Grace is the daughter of one of our members that was afflicted with Neuroblastoma. A rare form of rapidly progressing cancer. She is currrently undergoing treatment. Her father is a member of our club and his insurance bailed on him. Our club voted unanimously to pay for his dues and his AMA during this time, even though he isn't flying. It's really a sad situation, hopefully this fly will help support the family in their time of need. She is in our prayers.

It's fun to fly with our helicopter brothers and sisters, it's just icing on the cake that the fly is to benefit a worthy cause.

Just a suggestion about the name of the event. I would not use invitational in the name of the event. To me that means that it is only an event for pilots that are invited. Sort of like the XFC and 3DM events. Also Invitational sounds to me more like a contest than a funfly. Just a suggestion. Best of luck with your event.

But, if you or Clay or DD or somebody could put up a link to allow HeliFreaks to make a donation to the FF regardless if we attend or not would be nice. This is a sad situation. I know if I were in the same position as the parents of this child, I would appreciate any and all help I could get! Set it up for PayPal, Visa, or whatever! I'll contribute! And I'm sure most of this community will also!

Thanks for the reminder Dan. Did anyone confirm Clint was coming to this event? I heard he was trying to get other GA freaks to attend. If they come up Friday night I might do the same.

I would hope but man what a "hump" for a one day event.

Talked to Clint last night and he will not be able to make it this weekend.

Regarding night flying I might bring a few other flyers from my area of Maryland if they know for sure someone will be flying at night. Who's planning on flying at night? If we have car lights we could fly the Trex's but if anyone crashes it doesn't count.

As Greg's not going I don't have a fancy GPS navigation system to find my way. Was considering going via Rt301 from Annapolis MD area. Using Google Map I cannot see exit numbers so please validate I have the correct information. Exit 118 is to Rt 606. City is Thornburg. Rt 606 name has Marris Rd to the west of Rt 1 and Mudd Tavern Rd then Stonewall Jackson Rd to the east. If I go via 301 I drive to Bolling Green and go west on 605 (Paige Rd) to 95 then take 606 off 95.

Does this sound correct?

If your heading south on Rt. 301 I would take 206 to 218 (I think it's White Oak Rd)

218 dumps you at Rt 17 business, Butler Rd which turns into Warrenton Rd.

Then take 95 south..

Exit 118 = Thornburg = Rt 606 = Marris Rd.

Head west appx 600 meters to traffic light,

Turn right - North on Rt. 1 = Jefferson Davis Hwy

Hope this helps.. I'm about 25 miles north of the flying field, (22 miles on I-95)
Your crew is welcome to crash at my place on Sat. Bring air bed & sheets..
