Are you using the standard main gear with the clutch block?

Just wondering.

hEHE Yep i have a sim (only been flying since 4 months now.. and out of those 4 months due to weather i've only flown for 2 if i'm lucky!). Had bugger all sim time but i'm doing all right in the end. :)

Do you mind if i ask how long you've been flying for and how much real stick time and sim stick time you get? Just for my own informations sake. Its interesting to learn how logn ppl have flown to give me an idea of roughly how long (and how much practise) i'll need to get to where i'd like to be. :)

i had flown airplanes since i was about 11, and now im 19. i started flying helies when i was 16. i started on a blade cp which taught me all my basic flight. then i had a got a mx-450 about 2 years ago and had that for a horrible year. that was the worst heli i had ever flown, it had so many issues and was very discouraging. with that heli i got as far as loops and rolls. once i baught a 500 it was all good from there. that heli taught me all of my 3d moves that i know now. i got the heli last summer and probly got 3 flights on it a day untill about october when it got cold.

as far as the simulator i flew probly 4-6 times a week for about 30 mins a day trying to perfect a move. now that we cant fly the sim at work i dont get as much stick time now, but i practice at home about 2 times a week. as long as you set goals for yourself to learn new tricks and be consistant, you will become a better pilot.

I am right at the level that cessna pilot is at and I have been flying for about a year and a half. I have spent probably 500 hours on a sim and about 500 flights real life. lots of practice, keep in mind I was not disciplining myself on the sim, just throwing sticks.

nice flying :)
I got a ways to go to get to where you are at, but goals and persistence should pay off. You got an advantage at 19yo though. Sharp reflexes :). I have older hands and brain heeh

Thanks for the info cessna its very interesting to hear someones journey. :) In these very short months (where does time go?) i've been flying i can do all upright orientations. i can back/forward flip/left and right roll while hovering in those orientations. not perfect of course but not to bad considering. can do loops flying left or flying right or flying forward away from me (come to think of it, haven't tried one flying nose in toward me... that'll be hairy!). I can fly around ok. stall turns (some other tricky turns like half roll to inverted then half a backflip). Fig8 turning away is near perfect, oens turning toward me needs lots of work, feeel awkward turning toward me in real heli.

Have done some remote circles but it depends how i feel on the day (confidence and focus levels). They need lots of work generally, though one day i was doing really nice ones! It doesnt bother me being inverted now. I can hover nose in inverted all day. And at eye level. Lots of concentration required if i'm low so i dont dumb thumb but if not then being in verted is not stressfull. So yeah thats some of the things i can do at this stage (not all.. dotn want to bore you to much! hehe). Just trying to learn orientations and get the feel of it. I want to learn more inverted hovering next i think. And possibly inverted forward flight. Thought it may be better to try backward upright first (done some in basic form... left to right. Plenty of options to stem the boredom (not that i ever get bored).

I wish i got into heli's when i first seen them (pictures in a magazine many years ago) but they were just to expensive way back when i just left high school.

as time goes it will all start to click. once you start getting very confident with ur flying it will seem like u learn more tricks within a shorter period of time. just keep up the flying and good luck

recently piro flips just kinda clicked for me, didn't even spend time practicing them but I got it, almost like I learned in my sleep.

if you can do rolls practice doing multiple rolls in FF and keeping it flying strait and level, this has helped me alot, once you learn to correct while rolling and flipping it opens up alot of new things.

i totally forgot to do piroflips in that video:arggg:. for me i learned how to do them, then i didnt like they way i was doing them, so i started over. now i can do them decently but i need to practice them with this bird a lot more. i can do them all day with my 500, but they need a little bit of work on this bird because i keep piroing to fast. i might turn my endpoints down or just practice more.
