Hi guy, I just got an avant efx, and I need some help setting up my 12Z for it. I had a raptor, so I have NO CCPM EXPERIANCE. I have gotten it to get the collectice to work, but cyclic is out the window. THanks
Eric

If your collective works right way,all you have to do is reverse cyclic in SWASH menu.
Don't have 12mz,but I'm pretty sure it has swash menu. Not the one where you select what kind of swashplate you're using, but the one with Pitch,Airleon,Elevetor.
Each of them will have % next to it, so just put % next to airleon and elevator to + or.
BTW:Usually helps reading the manual :D :D :D :D

I have a 14mz but I thinkk they should be the same. First in the swash menu do as instructed, reverse the Aileron or elev and see which one works. I know on mine I had to reverse the pitch. Do this by making the % + or -. Also to adjust the travel of the aileron or elev, or the pitch use the % on this page. If I remember right I have mine at Ail 62% Elev 62% and pitch 74%. Don't use ATV to adjust total movment as it will mess up the set up, leave it at 100%. Ok make sure all your linkages are equal length, 3 to the swash, make sure both rods on each servo match exactly. Leave your pitch curves liniar, use the D/R ATR page to adjust the top and bottom of both pitch and throtle. If you need any more help let me know.

I forgot to mention that all the linkages should be set at 90 degrees to each other at 0 deg of pitch. Thats from the servo's up thru the head.

Also on the engine fit, its better to remove the top bearing block with the motor, and remove the motor from the right side with the frame doubler removed and the bearing block will come right out the hole and you don't need to trim the frames. Remove the right motor mount from the engine and frame, left one can stay on the engine. Also for quick repair of motor you can leave the left side of the fan shroud on. Saw the string on RR.

Also note if you have the CX Programmable Head:

"The angle between the mixing arm and the rod coming from the swashplate needs to be 90 degrees when the blades are at zero degrees of pitch.

Many people make the mistake of trying to make the mixing arm level and doing so you won't get equal collective pitch right side up and inverted. You'll end up with more pitch inverted and your rod will appear to be shorter than needed because you're trying to incorrectly reach a point that is out of the reach of the rod.
"

Yes Elviswl you are quite right, it make a huge difference. I have fliped my flybar and mixing arm and counts more there.

Thanks guys, unfortunately my Avant went in today. I was just hovering it to break in the engine in normal mode, and when i switched it into idle up after about a second the tail started piroetting like carzy and tipped over a few feet up. :(

Fly Boy 1, did you find your problem? I set mine up so that all the pitch curves are the same in all modes, exept thr hold, but make sure when your at 0 pitch you can swtch between all modes without changing pitch. you can setup to have less negitive pitch in normal mode, but leave the top side of the curve so that from 0 to 10 is the same in all modes so that won't happen

We did find Fly Boy's problem. It was a setup issue in the TX that caused the gyro gain to go to 0% in idle-up.

Yep, I really hate the "Groups" function. Parts are on the way, so I should still be able to make it to Al's this Saturday. :)
