July Dates??????????????

Trying to get a Handle on July Dates for a HHFF @ Hodges Hobbies. Heli-Invasion Slash FF. Looking @ a free Clinic from 8:00 till 10:00 and then a full day of Flying. We can do a 2 or three day thang. Mac can have fuel or what ever we need in the shop. Let me hear from you guys on this so we can get a date to let Mac know when we will be there. Thanks

As far as I know, there is nothing scheduled after June 20 (SEFF - HUGE electric fun fly, 200+ pilots!).

I am cool with any weekend in July that is not the weekend of the 4th. The HF Raffle takes place LIVE on July 5 at 9PM EST.

I will be attending the Electric event at Mac's next weekend.

I am really excited at the prospect of a HF - HeliInvasion FF in July thanks for getting it together Clint. It should be a great time!!

For those who may not know, Hodges' is my "local" field and I'm there pretty much any time it's light out and not raining (sometimes even when it is raining! :shock: )

So if there is anything that I can do to help out with the arrangements, let me know. Also, I'll have a spare bedroom (but you may have to share with a bunch of boxes).

I'm going over there tonight to try to squeeze in a few flights. There is a warbird fly-in this weekend and I understand that a lot of them are there already. They may not take too kindly to one o' them thar whirly thingies buzzing around their scale 'birds. But it's a free country, right?

Truth be told, it's really going to be up to us. Mac is very gracious insofar as hosting events at his field. But the organization and running of said events is up to those planning it. As long as there isn't a schedule conflict, the field is ours. But Mac really stays too busy to help plan and run events.

The only thing on his event calender after June 20th is his Fall Fly-In October 16 & 17. So I'd say we can pretty much pick the dates we want. But I would start planning a fall Heli Invasion now. Just pick a date and ask Mac to add it to the calender. As far as coordinating with him, that's all it takes. :glasses:

I remember the first Heli FF at Mac's was great with a large turnout and lots of interesting machinery. The subsequent events haven't been nearly as well attended (but still lots of fun). I'd like to see this become one of the best attended events of the year. We have access to an awesome facility in a relatively central location. It should really be promoted as such.

And like I said before, I'm willing to help out in any way that I can. Somebody just needs to ask! :mrgreen:

Well, the only thing on the calendar here (on HF) is virginia on the 2nd and 3rd. The sooner we come up with a date, the less likely it will be that a conflict will arise.

What about the following weekend? October 9 & 10? Remember that Mac's Fall Fly-In is the 16th and 17th.

I looked at the calendar on RR and the only thing going on the 9th & 10th is the 3rd ANNUAL FALL ROTOR FINALE - SPRINGFIELD MO. I don't think something in Missouri would cause too much of a conflict. But if it does, there is nothing going on the 24th & 25th. We could do it then instead.

That date will be ok with me. I will be there and try to bring some bodies with me but have alot of home bodies in this town! :P
