View Full Version : 12z, using dial to adjust throttle hold

Anyone know of a way to use a dial to adjust the throttle hold value?
What I want to do is have the dial in the low position for normal hold and be able to turn the dial up for learning auto's. I was hoping there was a fine turning control I was overlooking but to no avail.
I was able to simulate this by putting in a flat throttle curve for the hold function and then changing the throttle trip to the knob but that is active in all flight conditions. I really want to just adjust the thold in the hold condition and not mess with the trim locations for other flight conditions.
Thanks,

perhaps creating a mix that is only active in HOLD and uses a dial w/ the throttle channel
as output would work.
thats how I've done it on a 9Z.
I dont have a 12Z but I'm suprized you can put a 'flat throttle curve' in the HOLD function.

just move the throttle trim function in hold, i personally use the upper right trim lever as the dial was always in the wrong place for each model, now the trim for hold is transferred with the model. works great, this was Tim Tompkins :noteworthy solution for the guys in our group., c-ya ron

yes, esp. when the slider is too low, shutting off the engine, turning your practice auto into
the Real Thing.

The problem I have is that when I change the throttle trim (using the fuction menu under the linkage page) it changes for every flight mode. Also when I do this the throttle hold function overrides the trim, at least thats how I remember it.

First, inhibit Throttle Hold & Idle. Create a separate HOLD condition with appropriate throttle curve; under function, ungroup throttle trim with the HOLD condition enabled. This will allow you to use trim BUT ONLY when HOLD is enabled.

i assumed that you had set up conditions, in the trim menu seperate the trims instead of grouping them. then in the hold condition move the trim function to where ever it feels good. works fine in my 9z or 14z has to work in the 12z. Ron

I always wondered what the comb/sepr meant in the fuction menu, should have dawned on me since everything else is like that. I guess I just assumed they would use group/seprate eveywhere.....
That should work, thanks for the help.
