Hey guys,
Its was also not nice morning for me :(
It shoulded be the test flight with the new motor, but it ended as soon as I did couple tic-tocs.
The heli began to lose its power and I autorotated in the grass quite hard
The damage you can see in the pictures.
The couse of the crash was striped rear main gear, but it was signed with OK. So I think it was striped due to much power or due to oldernes, because I havent changed it when I bought the heli.
My gearing 14;50;19;61.
Thro curv: 90 flat.
Motor Scorpion HK3026-1210kW.
So what should I do ? Should I put another stock rear main gear or should I buy this one:
http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_30_38&products_id=2571
As for the main frame, I think im gona order another one as a spare, but this old one Im gona fix with couple ties and use again.
P.S.
How its possible to put 20T OWB as the bearings in the frame is fixed ? Is it the same size as 19T ? Or you can do that just in the CF frame ?

What motor are you running?

Sorry to hear that Mr Clown :hug:
I have broken the lugs off the front and back of my frame - what you can do is bolt the under-carriage on to the "floor" of the frame - I do this with a spacer to keep the heli "floor" parallel with the top of the u/c bow. I'll try and get a piccie.
Mike.

personally, I' just get the stock gear... those derlin gears are nice and at one time the stock gears were soft and the derlin gears were needed. now, the stock gears are strong and derlin isn't needed. in fact, I bet that if you had a derlin gear in there, it would have stripped as well. I would also order an new frame and use it, just to make sure you have the new plastic which is stiffer than the original. of course, if you plan on doing harder 3D maneuvers then you might want to think about getting a CF frame. just to keep the flexing to a minimum. you should have a head speed around 2150-2200 RPM... that's a lot to ask of the stock plastic frame for tic-tocs
as far as the 20T OWB... it is a direct replacement part.. it fits just like the 19T

Thanx Mystic.
In this case I think I'll get a new plastic frame and couple of original rear main gears.
As for the CF frame, damn it's to expensive
I would take it for lets say for about 100$ , but now for the 200$ it's too much :(

Gaui CF frames $139
http://grandrc.com/inc/sdetail/101289
I used some aluminum spacers from the cf parts kit
to reinforce my second plastic frame.
Dont think its gonna break in two places like the last one did.
It was weaker than the gears.
As for the 19 or 20t owb and the 14 or 15t belt pulley gear?

Mine broke here:http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f310/rmccomb/100_1604.jpg
and here:

The brace behind the motor sure saves it from getting scratched up by the CNC control levers though not sure what it does for chassis flex in relation to the gears.
It makes the control levers completely solid.

Rmccomb,
Sorry to say this, but you have your balls in the wrong place !!!!!.
The top ball should be in the other hole.
Cheers,
Mike.

I'm using CF servo horns
http://www.readyheli.com/v/vspfiles/photos/CHP-G012-2.jpg
All smooth full travel no binding.

you have it correct if you're using the offset CF plates... if the CF plates are straight (they made those too) then take out the offset on the CNC arms..
keepnitflying
03-21-2009, 04:07 PM
I bought both types as the cnc elevator is straight.
mysticmead
03-21-2009, 04:34 PM
then use the straight ones on all 3 servos.. adjust the balls on teh CNC arms so one is high and the other is low... that'll make it straight across.. then there will be no interaction as you move through the entire range.

I layed the horns on the levers and they have the same offset in the same direction as the levers so I figured good as stock.
It maxes cyclic out without interaction
may do that though

servos aren't attached just swapped em out

yes I know.. BUT, you have no offset on 1 servo... but have offset on 2.. set it up as you want.. but to make sure there is no interaction at all, they all need to be set up the same.

Hey again,
I forgot to mention, that gear striped, because it was not marked with OK sign. After puting OK one, everything was perfect, but next flight shit hapened: :arggg:

I failed, when I was trying to fly inverted :thinking:bawl
As you can see the lower battery is a bit bendet, but I did 1 cycle on the charger and thankfully it looks OK.
As everything else, I thing the damage will cost lets say about 70 USD

OMG.. the hurri was run over by a farm tractor!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see the tractor tracks!!!!!
seriously though... that lipo is fine.. it barely looks dirty... one thing I didn't see in the wreck was the canopy... please tell me you had a canopy on while flying... not flying with a canopy can lead to loss of orientation and a crash... or worse.. a pack falling through the blades..
oh yeah... before bobby freaks out..
yes... this was just another example oh why helicopters are not meant to fly upside down.. it goes against the laws of nature.. that results in a crash...
:D
this should also serve as a reminder... if you have a 42T gear, check that it is stamped OK... if you have a 42T gear that is not stamped OK, then you have the older SOFT gear.. it will strip on you.. the new style 42T gear is stamped OK and is much stronger (within reason of course).. the 50T and 60T are NOT stamped OK as they came out after the Hurri had been around and the new plastic was already shipping..

Mystic check the top pic, the canopy looks to have been ejected a few feet from the main wreckage! Sorry 'bout your crash man.
