I am now putting my 700e together and thanks to all the info here I think I will have a nice set up. However, I am still a little confuse about the correct batteries to use. I have already bought some 3000mAh 6s 25C batteries, but, I see a lot of people running the 5000mAh. Would mine give me a decent set up? I am using a Scorpion 4030-560 kV motor, CC 110HV, and thinking about getting a Mod 1 gear to get at least 11:1 ratio. Pleas advise. Thanks.

definately go with the mod 1.0 gear if you dont want gear problems also 3000 mah packs wont cut it you definately need 5000 packs the 3000 packs dont have enough available power good luck hope this helps

Darn it! and I bought 4 of them. Ok, what if I put 2 in parallel to increase the capacity to 6000mAh and then in series to get my 50 Volts? I hope they fit. Thanks for the reply. BTW, where do you get those mode 1 gears?

You can find them here: https://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=983

I will have matching mod 1 11T -12T & 13T 6mm pinions in a couple of weeks.

What conversion do you have? I have the "Heli Direct" conversion and I tried to make my 6S Turnigy 3000mah 20Cs fit and could not. I can get two in the back but can't do it in the front at all. The only thing you could do to get the fourth battery in there is to strap it underneath the bottom plate which would be pretty stupid. You could probably fly it on 2 of your batteries but it's going to put a lot of stress on them and they may not last more than a few flights. I would not recommend it(Although it would be really light). It would be better to return or sell those and get the correct batteries.

The 4030-560kv is a known mod 0.7 gear stripper, hopefully the mod 1 will with stand all that power.

While the 3000Mah packs would be ideal for a 6s T500 or 12s T600, the lowest some light T700e setups run are 12s 4000Mah.

I run both 12S 5000 and 12S 4270 in mine. You can definitely tell the difference between the two. It flies nice with both though.

How do the 4270's fly compared to the 5000's??

It flies noticeably lighter with the 4270s. They are these http://www.rremodels.com/rrenerland6s4270mah18-25csportpack.aspx If you like to do a lot of fast direction changes, stops etc it will help with that. Good packs for the money.

Well, I guess I have for sale 4 brand new 3000mAh 25C Outrage new generation batteries. This ones can be charged up to 5C. If anyone is interested let me know. They are brand new. I will take $105.00 for each. I paid $127.00 for each one.
Now, is anybody using the 5000 mAh zippys? How many cycles can you get out of those?

I have 4 of the Turnigy 20C 6S 5000s and they all puffed in under 10 flights. To me they are total crap and I will never buy them again. My 6S 3000 Turnigies also have started to puff after about 7 flights in my Atom. On the other hand my RRemodels Enerlands are running fine.

This would be due to the low c rating and high power demands.

A 30c pack would have been more suitable to your high power demands without puffing.

I can possibly see that being the case in the Atom except for the packs never even got hot. In the 700 I am running 12S and there is no way that I'm stressing those packs. They come down almost cool. I think I got a bad batch. One actually had a bad cell from the start that I had to charge seperately through the balance lead if I wanted to run it. I don't even bother with it now. With several hundred wasted on these packs I'm done with anything from Hobby City battery wise. These "cheap" batteries end up real expensive when you get so few flights out of them. I really wanted these to work too.:(

Now, that's for the Turnigy's, how about the Zippy H? They are more expensive than the Turnigy. Are they better? I am about to place an order for those, but, I am not sure anymore. How about the charging on these? I have some Hyperion I use on my 450 pro and I can charge those at 8A and be done in 15min. perfectly balanced. Are the Hobbyking batteries also capable to charge that fast? Thanks for the advise.

After running 6s Flightmax 2650Mah 30/40c on my 6s T-Rex 500 and 12s T-Rex 600 for nearly a year, they're all still going strong and balance perfectly.

Also running 6x 3s Flightmax 2200Mah 25/35c on my T-Rex 450 Pro.

My mate is also running 6s Turnigy 5000Mah 25/30c on his Logo 550 with insane power. :YeaBaby:

Looks like 20c chemistry can't handle today's powerful motors.

How about the number of cycles you can get out of these batteries? Can you get at least 200? I want to make it worth the change from nitro. Thanks for the reply.

LOL.. You'll be lucky to get a hundred out of the best on the market..

At a third of the cost of other packs, both Flightmax and Turnigy packs have been known to out perform Outrage pack both in cycles and power.

Wow! Are you serious? Ok, I will go for the Flightmax. But, 100 cylces still good. I only get 6 flights out of a gallon of nitro on my 700N. Out of a case I get, let's say 25 flights. One case of fuel costs me $100.00, so, to get 100 flights I need to spend $400.00. A pair of these batteries would cost me $200.00 and they will get me 100 flights. That still good. I hope.

For increased cycle life, it is recommendable to avoid 20c's, 25c min, preferably 30c continuous.

While a higher c rating may cost/weigh a little more, they'll definitely be worth while in the long run. :smokin:

The flightmax's are marginally lighter than the Turnigy's but both perform very well.
