I have decided now that I LOVE flying!!!! I am thinking about moving up from the blade cx. Some people say to go up to a trex, but they seem really touchy, and I am not sure if I am ready for that. Any other suggestions, or past expiriances????

It depends on if you are wanting to stay with electrics or go to nitro. If you want to try nitro the Raptor 50 is a good value and flies well.

Hi Flippychick,

I can't speak to nitros, I fly electric. I have several smaller birds; 3dpro and Fixed pitch hummingbirds. But I find the Trex easier to fly. The trex is bigger and more stabile but requires a bit more room to fly. Definitely not an indoor bird.

I've read alot about the blade cp, you might research that bird too. It's smaller sounds pretty rugged.

Cheers,
Leslie

Hey Flippychick,
The blade cp is a good next step. Its fairly inexpensive and its very durable. I have crashed mine many times and it just keeps flying and flying. As for Nitros I have a Raptor 30. I love my 30 and its not near as expensive to fix when you crash as a 50 is. You can get a blade cp for $219 and you already have the training gear. I know the raptor 30 cost me $850 plus you have to get a field box and fuel and some other tools to build it. The blade cp comes ready to fly were as the Trex and the nitros you will pretty much have to build. I know for me building them is fairly easy but than again I build helicopters in real life for work so I have 10 years of experience building real helicopters and converting my knowlage over to rc was pretty easy as the theory is the same for real helicopters as it is for rc helis. I hope I have helped you some with my ramblings. Good luck and let us know what you chose to upgrade to.

thanks guys and gal lol. I will probably not be switching to nitro haha. but I was thinking about the blade cp a little bit, helirook thinks that the rex is easier to fly, a little more spendy, but if I am going to keep moving up in helis I will probably end up with a rex either way, and might as well just get that next?

If you were considering nitro, have a good look at the Hirobo line. I've got a pair of Evo 50's and they have been plug and play since day one. I fly them bone stock and am not even considering any upgrades till I wear it out or tear it up.

Also IN MY OPINION they are a better looking heli than any 30/50 out there. I personally just don't like the Raptor look, but I've seen guys fly the snot out of them.

One thing to think about with nitro's is all the other stuff you need to go with. Starter, glow lighter, rx batteries, fuel pump, yada, yada, yada.

If you want to stay E powered maybe a good idea to wait a bit and see how the Lepton and Trex 600 turn out. Based on Hirobos past performance, the Lepton is going to be the machine to beat in that class.
